How do Eric...Thanks for the invite..never read your books, but I will start looking!! My friendly neighborhood used book store has a couple of books they are holding for me, so I will see if they got ya while I'm there!! I'm always looking for new authors. I read quicker than ya'll can write!!LOL!!! I loved Deadwood..did they ever come back out with it..I cancelled my HBO so don't know..if they did, I might get it back!!! Not much into baseball, but my brother in law is & his son just went off to college to a school with a great baseball program..my bro in law works for the dodgers! He used to work for the Toronto Bluejays & has 2 world series rings!! They are cool!!! The thing about tattoosis.. YOU don't have to look at them & you forget they are there!!!(I have 3!!) Take care..peace
You qualify as a very cool author dude and that's good enough for me. Hi, Eric--This is Jordan Dane. I got tagged with the design and set up for our new page, but I wanted to make sure we had plenty of familiar faces on our site. Thanks for swinging by. See you in AK.
The book should be coming out in a year around this time. I did get a good contract considering being a new author and getting into the book industry.
I look forward to meeting you in November and getting a book signed. Also, I will enjoy talking to you if there isn't a long line, and meeting you in person.
Hi Eric, I got a contract through Blu Phier, they are actually easy to work with. I got my royalities doubled and the contract is a lot better. For my first book, I will do fairly well. Now I am working on my second book, getting that edited and polished and writing my third. I'm on a roll, but I am going to get an agent!!!!!!!! When I get this new book I have ready, I am going to Janet Reid and see if she'll represent. I don't want to go through the contract thing again.
I had a lot of help, Sasha Lord, and Keith Spence looked it over and gave me advice and so I negotiated the contract that way. I'll see you in November when you are doing your book signing session!
Thanks for the invite, Eric. And congratulations on the starred Library Journal review. Enjoyed your note about the thumbprint. From my own experience with that limited edition thing, I think the damned ink is in my DNA now.
Hi Eric
Thanks for adding me. Your books look interesting. And you're right - what did happen to Jonathan Valin? And Howard Engel? We should be told! I also agree about Moby Dick, though I don't read it as often as you do. That would be The Great Gatsby - it's shorter!
Yes, I was surprised how the violence was very judiciously handled in INFERNAL AFFAIRS. And while females still had very minor roles in THE HK version, the psychologist was way more believable than in THE DEPARTED. Yes, please bring some DVDs to The Edison. I'd love to check them out.
I don't have any of director Kore-eda's films, but I'd recommend him highly. He does films with a lot of pathos (little to no violence). I don't know if it's your cup of tea. But NOBODY KNOWS, AFTERLIFE, MABOOROSHI--I love them all, but then I love depressing.
Okay, I finally saw INFERNAL AFFAIRS. Loved it. It was better than THE DEPARTED and more compact, too. We'll be seeing Johnnie To's BREAKING NEWS and a South Korean version of SEX IN THE CITY--TAKE CARE OF MY CAT. Looking forward to both. Any other Chinese gangster films you are recommend? See you on Wednesday.
Hi Eric,
Congrats on the release and re-release of your novels! My suspense novel, CROSSHAIRS, was released about 6 weeks ago and I'm up to my ears in promotion right now. Hope to get the next novel underway pretty soon. It'll be a continuation of CROSSHAIRS with basically the same cast and same locale. Check it out on my websites www.russheitz.com, myspace.com/russheitz, and fwasarasota.blogspot.com. Welcome to my circle! Russ
Hi Eric...I had the chance to talk with the B&N store manager in Kankakee yesterday (8/18) and she told me to give you her info so your rep could call. She's a great mystery and thriller lover just as I am. Anyway, her name is Barb Kling and the info is:
Barnes & Noble
Water Town Plaza
1577 North State Route 50
Bourbonnais, IL 60914
815-935-2209
Hope that isn't too far south. Checked on BN.com and the book is available for pre-order. :o) If you decide to come to Bourbannais, I'll try and drive up.
Not much help in the signing department I'm afraid. I'm in central Illinois...although I know the Chicago B&N stores often do signings. The main store is at State and Elm I believe. 1130 North State Street
Chicago, IL 60610
312-280-8155 Maybe Bleak House could make a call. Hours
Sun 10-10,
Mon-Sat 9-10
I'll make sure I get a copy too! Have you ever thought about attending Love Is Murder in Chicago (Feb 2008)?
Just curious. :o)
Hi Eric! I never did e-mail you about your first book. Really glad to see a second, and that the first one is coming out in paper about the same time. I'll make sure I recommend them both(I'm still part-timing at B&N)! Great to see you! And thanks for asking to be my friend :o) I'm really new at this crimespace thing...are you in Chicago anytime soon?
Hi Eric, I am still waiting for snail mail and the contract to reach me! I'll let you know and then we can go over it and see what you think.
Oh yeah, already got my chair ready for the line in November for your book signing! I will definately be there and meet you in person. I must say, it will be a great experience.
