Are any crime space members going to be at Harrogate Crime Fest? I'll be roaming the halls, looking murderous, this weekend and would love to say hello to fellow members. Jane
Good to find anther Canadian here on crimespace. I get down to Toronto to Sleuth of Baker Street periodically when I get to TO. I live in Niagara Falls. I also belong ro several mystery reading lists.
Last night was amazing - my first book launch and signing at Sleuth of Baker Street in Toronto. Lynne was there before going off to hear Margaret Atwood. The store was so full of people you couldn't move. They sold out the 100 copies they had ordered in for the event, but our editor came to the rescue with 80 more. Makes me want to take this writing thing seriously :}}}}} Some people bought copies for their entire book group. It does have some good stories though, with a crime Christmas theme, so it's a fun read for December, and makes a good Christmas present at a reasonable price. I have my fingers crossed for its launch on the world. Jane :}}}}}
Just remembered --- don't you have Blood on the Holly coming out next month? Short stories anthology with lots of great authors? I am afraid I have forgotten the details.
Janie, love! Are you HOME yet? Have you met or read Vicki Delany? I just finished one of hers - Scare the Light Away. It was a really interesting read. She is actually from Oakville!
Wow Jane! YOur first novel, me too! STruggling that is. You'll do it. in fact, we'll both do it and meet half way across the atlantic to celebrate wtih a botle of bubbly, what do you say? all the best
Hi Janie! You must be long back from London and up north by now I suspect. Let me know when you have a free day down this way and we will try to get together. Mind you, getting me out of the house is not so easy .....
Last post the daughters were off to London....hard when they go far away. But when you write it makes the time pass and you go into another world. It has given me a purpose now that I'm an empty nester....My book, The Beatitudes, is a paranormal thriller set in New Orleans. It will be out in the fall and I am donating all royalties directly to the New Orleans Public Library Foundation. Libraries support the infrastructure of a great city, so I have started The Beatitudes Network to promote awareness of the importance of public libraries in NOLA.
The blogsite www.beatitudesinneworleans.blogspot.com describes the Network, has excerpts from The Beatitudes, recipes, and more. Merci mille fois. Lyn Lejeune.
Writers, please pass the word…..it’s for a good cause….don’t let the libraries of New Orleans or the US go the way of The Great Library of Alexandria. P.S. just posted an excerpt on my page here on crimespace.
Hi, Jane - Off to Harrogate? Oooh, I'm so jealous. I see some of our nefarious friends have already visited here. :) Be sure and tell us all about your trip when you get back. No doubt we'll be at the pub!
