From one Morgan to another: thanks for the invite! I lived in Chicago for a while. You must have amazing concentration if you can write during your commute on the El or the IC.

I'm still not sure what DH is--dear husband? lol You said you like Mary Higgins Clark and Brad Meltzer. Did you like working with Hard Shell? Do you have an agent?

OOOH! I envy you! I live in SoCal now and while it snows in the mountains, we never seem to get snow tires. I like being settled in somewhere it is snowing. It's so quiet, like being in a church.

Hi Morgan! I spent a wonderful couple of days in Chicago loving your snow a few winters ago. You got 13 inches while I was visiting. I was originally from Atlanta so I never get enough real winter.. Thank you for your invite. :-)

Oh, no! I'd been looking forward to Carson's...sigh. Chicago isn't the great place to shop it used to be. We lost the Emporium and I. Magnin years ago in SF. MF and CPS were holdovers from a much more elegant era. I'll miss them both.

Hi, Morgan! The conference in January is called the APA/AIA annual--it's like the Bouchercon for classicists and archaeologists, and believe me, there's even more alcohol consumed at this than at writing conferences! ;)

I'm giving a presentation on comic books and classics, as part of an Outreach Panel--it'll be fun (plus, I love Chicago--it's my mom's hometown!) I'll be doing a lot of publicity for my book, too.

But I'm still really upset about Marshall Fields! :(

Hi Morgan, thought I'd stop by now that I have some clue how Crimespace works. Where do you live in Chicago? I was born in Evanston. Last time I was back was to go to Bouchercon 2 years ago and I gotta say the downtown area was so nice it was hardly recognizable. Congrats on your first novel Two Wrongs. Is it a mystery? Romance? Both? EPIC is not a bad place to get a start. I won an EPPI in 2003 and now Poisoned Pen Press is re-issuing Listen to the Mockingbird, my historical mystery/suspense next month. They say it never happens, but it does. Is Hard Shell still around? They had a good rep, but I thought I'd heard they had closed. Cheers and best of luck.

Hi, Morgan, and thanks for the invite! My mom's from Chicago originally--it's one of my favorite cities.

I'll be there in early January for a conference (yeah, it's gonna be cold!), but still--the hot dogs (complete with celery salt) and pizza are worth it! (Though I miss Marshall Field's. There's a reserved level in hell for Federated Department Stores).
