Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”
Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."
Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"
The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.
Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.
The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.
The same thing happened to me, Len. I completely missed the first couple of series and one night caught an episode and went out and bought all I had missed and more. There are a couple of Goodfella actors in The Sopranos.
Hi Len. I thought I left a message, not a comment. I'm just using the excuse of Valentine's Day to work my way through my Crimespace friends wishing that all kinds of love may come your way: romance, intimacy, friendship, family, community. :) Liz
Ah, insurance. Since I am in the process of exhanging my full time day job at the bank for more free time and the job at the bookstore, I get to traverse the rocky road of new policies and deductibles. That is the only drawback...I was definitely ready to trade in the numbers and the balances for the world of writing. I'm a bibliophile (love that word), so the bookstore has always been my favorite job and I do get more time to devote to writing. I am sorry to hear about your son's death. Sometimes things just don't make sense.
I can't say I'm a major Dylan fan, although I was around when he had his first hit, and I think his talent as a songwriter is a great one. I'm a blues fan (not knowledgeable, but I do like Buddy Guy and Elmore James), and I also like the music of Dr. John, Alan Toussaint, and Beausoleil...and the rock of the late fifties and sixties...snd the girl groups. I'm in the middle of a mystery set in Portland, hopefully quirky enough to catch someone's interest, and have another in mind for a totally fictional setting...I love police procedurals but seem to do better at writing the quirky stuff. Thanks for the note. Drop by the page anytime :o)
You're a hoot as well as a howl! I'm sorry to hear your stripping career is over. I think that the dry cleaners probably got torn down for condos by now too. You'll just have to read another one of my books for entertainment, I guess. Thanks!
