Hey, Caro, Congrats on the acknowledgement for "Drag Queen...", that must be very gratifying! And isn't it great in TO today? If this isn't a prelude to spring, then my kids don't own skates! heh heh

Hi Caro
and yes, I'm a huge Val McD fan. I'm also lucky enough to count her amongst my friends - albeit long-distance.
PD Martin, Kerry Greenwood, Leigh Redhead and Kathryn Fox, Sydney Bauer, Alison Goodman, and Narelle Harris are all female Aussie crime writers. the Aussie blokes are Shane Maloney, David A Rollins and Geoffrey McGeachin.
All the others on the list - Janet Evanovich, JM Redmann, Nelson DeMille, Tom Robbins (that's Tom, not Harold) and Steven Pressfield - are American.
Tom and Steven don't write crime but they do write very very well.
cheers
No problems Caro, I'd love to help you out. Just don't wait til the last minute, because I usually have a lot of questions surrounding the actual poisoning. It's actually what happens peripheral to the poisoning that gives it an authentic feel. Ciao.
Congratulations on your book, Drag Queen! We are about to go and shovel our our cars when our snow-removal guys didn't show. See you tomorrow night if the abominable snowman doesn't get me first....
I'm afraid I'm a bit of a flop in the blogging world. Can't seem to remember to do it. :) I hoped this page would inspire me, but alas, it's only when Someone posts here that I remember. Sad.
My web page, however, is more or less up to date...
Caro
I may be mis-remembering, but I think you sat next to me at the SIC booth at BookExpo. You've put a lot of promo-miles under you since then. Hope the travel was worth it. I was browsing members, and got interested when I read your remark about not being very interested in others' books when you're writing. I can SO relate (but I still try to read).
Jane Burfield? Of course! She as a story in the anthology I edited called BLOOD ON THE HOLLY. A great book for Christmas, by the way. :) And Sleuth--hey, they carry my books. Gotta love' em!
Ingrid! I went looking for MWF the other day and couldn't find it. Anyway, Tucker is no longwer with me. He is on doggy Prozac and haa moved to the country to live with a rescue lady with four other dachshunds. She has ramps everywhere so he doesn]t haev to picked up adn carried up[ steps etc. He is much better apparently and no longer barks at the telephone. He plays a bit with the others and even wags his tail.
Meanwhile, I have taken in 2 other rescue dachsies form Georgia, of all places. They were always kept outside until their owners moved to Toronto. Too cold in the winter here. They had the sense to hand them over to dachshund rescue, and now I have them, and they are delightful, affectionate and friendly. Wonderful dogs to come home to! They were not abused, but never in a house,. You can imagine the first moth or two. :) My husband id a saint!
Good to see you all! I won't be doing any good discussions about anything for a while as I leave for World Fantasy Convention next week with my friend, horror writer Nancy Kilpatrick. Why am I going, you ask? For fun, mostly. And oh yes, I do write the odd bit of dark fantasy now and then. And then there;'s the erotica.... well, enough about that.
The WFC crowd is great and I am looing forward to a "pro" con, for a change. It's my last trip of the year and that's a good thing, too, as I need to get back to writing.

Having nothing better to do, I browsed and found you. Glad all is well with you. How's Tucker?
