Hi, Rose, what a great forum on 'guns'! I guess Australia must have similar views to Canada on the gun issue, probably a product of our colonial days.
Anyway, good to see you here.

Hi Rose - in case you're off the SinC event tonight in the city - I hope you have a great time. Alas I think I'm going to miss this one - slight crisis with some stuff around here and it's off to the hardware store to buy some bits :)

Hi Rose - I wasn't too sure if we would get there but in the end I dragged along the husband and the neighbours and we had a great night - very timely as well as I read Eden and Trojan Dog not so long ago, now I have to get to Alison and Liz's books :)

The new venue seemed really good (not that I saw the old one of course), but the pub's own beer on tap was very very nice :)

Hopefully I'll make the next one as well - I'll know closer to the day I guess.

LOL, Karen. Trouble is, now my wheels are firmly stuck in the mud. Hmm... Good luck with the characters. I keep feeling so far out of my depth with a full on novel - where do I start, how do I go about it? I tried the whole character thing and got so bogged down, then felt constrained by what I'd decided for them. Here's hoping you're right and 08 is our year to get going!

Hi Rose, well my writing has stalled a bit, temporarily, as well, due to the fact that our shop has been busy with the back-to-school thing. But, as February is usually a quiet month I will launch back into it, with gusto. By the way, that 'spinning the wheels' analogy of Sue Grafton's that you told me about at the Scarlet Stiletto night has really stuck in my mind, so I am at present building characters for my first novel. Let's both make '08 our year!

Hi Rose! Thanks for your note about the blog. That post about "scary finger food" was written by my co-blogger, Camille Minichino, who always has very creative ideas!

I'm gonna vacation in Sydney sometime in '08, just to make sure I dig the city (I think I will, though). Then I'll work on moving down. Sounds like it's tough to get a working visa, but I'm pleasantly persistent ;)
