In 2001- I read a novel called ECHO BURNING by Lee Child, the fourth in the Jack Reacher series - and what looked like a pulp novel, I soon realised had a hidden depth, layering the action with social commentary and whole lot more - but most importantly it THRILLED this reader.

I met Lee at a booksigning in Manachester in 2001 and told him how much I enjoyed his writing - see link below

6, years on, his writing just keep getting better, while get older - notice the grey hair.
