Tony Hillerman has died.

I saw the news this morning on Sarah Weinman's blog. It saddened me. I'm a big fan of Hillerman's work. At his best, he was as good as any mystery author I've read.

That is sad news. Hillerman was one of my favorite writers. May he rest in peace.

One of my late husband's favorites. Now perhaps my husband and Hillerman are discussing his works in that great big library in the sky. An FAA organization just sent me a form to renew my husband's FAA license, and I told them that he was flying with his own wings now and has been since April of 2007.
