Hi Rick. I just got your friend request of March 16, 2008! I had completely forgotten I was on this site -- in the flurry of finishing and publishing my novel, "Revenge of theLobster Lover." It'll be released in a couple of weeks.
The best of my Mysterioius People blog interviews and articles are going to be published by a small press and I need your permission to include yours in the book. Please email me at Seniorsleuth@aol.com.
Wow, Rick, I read Six Seconds during March Break and was VERY impressed. Great story by a great writer!! Congrats on the bestselling status, and I'm now looking forward to your next! Donna
I just finished reading Six Seconds. What a great read!! I can't wait until your next book. Congratulations on becoming a best seller on Canada's national bestseller list! And congrats on the article in the Reader's Digest!
Wow, Rick. What a career you've had! I take it that all / parts of these interviews have an affect on your writing, and that you incorporate that into your plots. But (if you don't mind my asking a personal question), has interacting with these kind of people affected you in any way? Do you ever have trouble sleeping after hearing some of these stories? Plus, how do you gain access to these guys on death row, etc.? Very Interesting.....!
Okay, I have to ask, have you ever interviewed any serial killers? Helter Skelter was a book that changed my life and my writing, so I've had an interest in serial killers for quite a while.
"Six Seconds" is a brilliant title, Rick! Kudos for coming up with it. I already feel the urgency......
Now, back to my own "clicking tock", or is that "tocking click", oh well, you know what I mean! (Do we have clocks in Canada?)

Your creative license is fine and was arguably necessary for the plot line.
I'm re-reading an earlier James Patterson book, Kiss the Girls, where he talks about the killer pulling a revolver and then a graph or two later, references it as a Glock pistol. My ERROR, ERROR buzzer went off loudly.
I helped a very recent NYT best seller author with his firearms issues (for free) and extend the same offer to you for firearms, military and criminal legal issues.
Rick, I completed Cold Fear this afternoon, a wonderful first effort. I was going to jump you about the twin engine helicopter weight limit business, but won't due to your disclaimer in the acknowledgments section. Also, the escaped con was awfully lucky to find the little girl so quickly in the millions of acres of wilderness when all the SAR people couldn't. I didn't write them down, but there were several places in the book where your turns of phrase were exquisite.
Hi Bill - thanks so much. I am honored by your kind feedback. With your background I imagine the bar would be set pretty high. Glad your local library had one of my books. Maybe it could be encouraged to order a few more of my titles. Very much appreciated, Bill. Rick

I'm in Toronto too. Heard some great things about Six Seconds. Looking forward to reading it.

You're as good a writer as anyone out there.
I think what separates you from some of the best seller big boys is some promotion and a perhaps a degree of luck. Great job.
Thanks for the invite, and congrats on all your successes so far.
Cheers!
