Hi, everybody.  My laptop is too heavy to lug around for doing a quick 1/2 hour writing spree.  Any suggestions for a cheaper alternative?  I have a NEO, but the screen is small so that I have to do a lot of scrolling to review what I've written. Anyone out there using an I-POD Touch or Blackberry or similar compact electrical device to do some quick, on-the-spur writing, please?  I'd like to work on short stories when I have those unexpected times of waiting, but don't want to spend a chunk of money purchasing a 13" MacBook Air. Something that I could download to my Mac and not have to retype from a notebook.  Thanks for your responses!

Use a pen and paper, you're going to edit the first draft anyways which means retyping the majority.
Get a netbook, like an Asus Eee PC. You're unlikely to find something more portable an convenient than the NEO. A Blackberry or Iphone would work, but no keyboard (or a tiny one, definitely not as good as the NEO. I have an Asus 1000HE; 10" screen and great keyboard, not too small, doesn't cause cramping.
I must agree, if you need digital. They have dropped in price as well.
Also, since you use an Alphasmart NEO already, you can get other fonts for it. The link below is a download for more fonts, one of which is an 11-line font. Might be worth a try if you want more screen space.

I have an Asus Aspire One netbook. It was less than $300, I think they've gotten a little bigger and gone up slightly in price. It's great for carrying around. It's very lightweight, I can do internet on it, etc.
iPad.
Many thanks to everyone who answered back! I started the discussion before the I-PAD announcement came out, so I'm leaning in that direction. And thanks for the NEO fonts information! Take care!
