I'm a husband, father, and veteran law enforcement officer. I've worked as a patrol officer, detective, detective sergeant, police academy instructor, and, currently, as the chief investigator for a district attorney's office. I was a member of SWAT for fifteen years and founded my department's sniper team, serving as its commander and trainer for nearly a decade. I boxed professionally from 2002 through 2005 and am certified as a defensive tactics instructor-trainer, a TASER instructor, and a firearms instructor.
It's lovely to be here, JT! Thanks for the nice comment about MFOB. In all honesty, it's the amazing contributors who make it what it is. So, that means you, Gerald, Sandra, and all the other highly talented contributors rule! Y'all are the BEST!
Hi BJ,
Thanks for requesting an online friendship. I'm going to look for your stories (books?). I'm also going to check out MFOB. Sounds like the kind of online place I enjoy. Are you attending any mystery conferences in the future?
Yours, Debby
BJ,
Glad you enjoyed the blog entry. I know there have been times when I've deluded myself, acted cool about raising kids--no big deal--but that parental thing is always there, hovering. There's something about having kids that changes your perspective in law enforcement, never mind life.
Hey BJ, thanks so much for inviting me to your group. I read your "About Me" with great interest. A friend of mine wrote a story that was just accepted by your magazine!! As a crime/mystery writer (detective series) I look forward to talking to you sometime about law enforcement. :)
Hi, BJ--Jessica Ferguson told me about this place. I joined just to be with you. Really, it's a great space. If I can just figure it out. I didn't make it to the conference, had bronchitis. I would have missed you anyway. How's Cathy?
Great to see you here. Looking forward to working with you!
There is a convetion here in town (Denver) in March (Left Coast Crime.) I'll be there. Will you? Perhaps we can meet up there and I'll by you a drink, and we can talk fiction, publishing and what not.
