I'm looking forward to the Book Launch this weekend, and am really excited about what a GREAT read "Blue Heron Marsh" is. I had such a hard time trying to put it down, once I'd started, that I found myself seeing the sun rise and the final page completed before I put it down. Now I'm looking forward to seeing the series continue and getting to know Web Sawyer even better. :-)
Douglass,
I am at that stage. I have the characters and the storyline and now just seeing where the story leads me. We have three dogs, Lab,Golden and a hound dog, and recently a neighbors cat has selected my girls as his best friend.

Thanks for the invitation to the Book Launch Party at your home yesterday. I added a blog with a photo of us that was taken by your son Chris. I've read the book though and totally enjoyed it both times. I'm looking forward to reading the next one when you've got it ready to roll. :-)
Hi. I enjoyed the pictures from your Book Launch Party and also very much enjoyed reading the excerpt from your "Blue Heron Marsh". It sounds like a very intriguing story. I think I may just have to read it! Best wishes, Betty Ann
I read the first one and it's a doozy. I like the driver's response to the tail gater. Lots of conflict and action. Glad I wasn't sitting on the guardrail where she hit the brakes!
*WOW* GREAT JOB on the latest Event! I really wanted to be there too, but I had a major disaster with my computer when I got in the night before. I couldn't even get the power to turn on, so my PC is completely dead now. Not that it wasn't past it's life expectancy, but I wasn't really expecting to have to go out and buy a laptop this soon. Now that I have a laptop, I'm really getting into this wireless connection and enjoying the space and speed that's increased about ten fold or so from what I was used to. Now I'll be able to work on here faster than ever before:-)
hiya douglas! thanks for the invite and the comment! i am definitely looking forward to checking out your website and what your books are all about...i will also add my book preferences soon! meow says the CAT
Hello there...I think pets are the best consultants b/c they are always positive in their feedback!!!!! I actually have consulted with two writers regarding cybercrime and narcotics for their novels...it is alot of fun! My contact with one writer is what led me to this site!
Douglas,
It looks like your signing was a success by your pictures. I am new to Podcasting, but know someone in ATL that is working on a Podcasting site.
Douglas Quinn has been in my Favorite Authors/Books areas since I created my profile here. As for the banners and links, and the audio addition to the site, the answer is yes. But we're also looking at fees to increase the time spent on developing the changes. Just let me know via email or phone, and give me an idea of the specifics, so I can round of the cost amount for you. :-)
I guess I need another cup of coffee. Of course Douglas Quinn is on your list. I guess I could have Kim Modler design/create a banner for me to use in link exchanges. In the meantime, what would you charge to do a links page where I could post a pic and one sentence blurb on an author where you could click on the author's pic to go to their webpage. Re the audio, I'd probably first use it here on Crimespace. We can get into that later.
No, I didn't record my own voice. I had found someone with a much better one to record the audio for me. Thanks for the offer of a review, I might take you up on it.
Hi, Douglas - Your book with the flashback to the Spanish Civil War sounds interesting. That's one of my favorite historical periods. I'll try to check it out.
You already have your web link here. Just add the crimespace link on your web site. You can add pics and text in both the blog and activity areas on the crimespace page (see mine if you're not sure). You can add any vids and music here, too--just click on that area and follow the instructions.
Hello Doug. I agree, it is wonderful to write focusing on where you live. But here out in the Pacific, it's hard getting to those signings that would be helpful. I have to coordinate vacation with signings.
Keep up the good work
I'm afraid you misunderstood the term 'veteran'. I don't read any author who wasn't first published before 1960. As far as I can tell Ed Goldberg is much later than that.
Hi Douglas,
Thanks for the message. My P.I. is a retired 9/11 hero forced into retirement from sustained injuries. Love the Spenser series. Your characters sound interesting. Daria
Hi Douglas, thanks for the invite. I like your excerpt from "Blue Heron Marsh." Looking forward to reading your work. And I see you're a fellow dog lover.
Thanks for adding me! Honestly, I haven't read Hannibal Rising yet. The movie came in the mail from Blockbuster before I had a chance to read it. I decided to wait a little while to read it, because I don't want the memories of the movie to conflict with the reading experience, as they always seem to do. I haven't read Black Sunday yet either. That's going to be one of the next ones I read. Anyway, I'll have to check out your books, too. Very soon. And, yes, I know that was an incomplete sentence.
Hello Douglas, and thanks for the request. Thrillers and crime novels are big in Norway, as it is in almost any other western country, I think. In fact it's been popular for a long time, some even argue that the very first crime novel wasn't E.A. Poe's Murder in Rue Morgue, but a norwegian book written a couple of years before, The Murder of Machine Builder Rolfsen, by Maurits Hansen ... i think that's stretching it a bit, though. Poe did something else that was new. He used cold logic to investigate the crime, and created the first modern detective. - anyway. There are also good new scandinavian writers of crime. some predict that Norwegian Jo Nesbø is going to break internationally with "Redbreast," others talk about swede Stieg Larsson and the trilogi he wrote and didn't even get to see published before he suddenly died. All of them good crime stories. Check them out, if you can find them.
Hi Douglas. I love Bones, I think it is a very unique and thoughtful insight into forensic anthropology. Kathy Reich has led an amazing life and I'm interested in all she does. Bare Bones is my favourite of her books.
I read up on the novels you've written and can't wait to read them. Thanks so much for connecting.
Hi, Douglas. Thanks for the invite. I'm a cat lover, too, so I was pleased to see your cat photos. I read all of the novel excerpts and reviews on your page, and I'm going to look for your books. It's good to hear from you.
Hi Douglas, thanks for the invite. It's always great to meet new cat lovers! I am a big fan of Kathy Reichs and Jonathan Kellerman as well, I think he's amazing!
Hey there -- your town sounds like my hometown, which had 4000 people when I was growing up. I well remember 'walking the beans' in the summer -- what an awful job that was!
Hi, Douglas, suspense is rising with the help of popular TV drama here. Some top suspense writers have become famous thanks to their works being adapted for such TV dramas that are later shown to the viewers
Hi, Douglas! Thank you for your comments on my post about my parents. I appreciate your kind words and excellent advice to use my feelings in my writing. I would have thanked you earlier but I've been offline most of December to focus on family, the holidays and my writing. I now plan to check out your page and learn more about my new friend and fellow cat lover! Have a great evening!
Hi Douglas, Thank you for welcoming me to Crimespace. I'm hoping to have more of my work published in the future. Just have to learn to balance my time, like everyone else. I look forward to reading your work. Happy 2008. SDF-C
I promise I will read the article as soon as I pass at least one exam (the first starting on February 5th and ending on February 8th). It's a miracle I even found time to take a look what's going on around here.... but that's all I'm doing for now.... just taking a look ;)
So when that mess is over I will gladly read it.
