About Me:
"I'm more afraid of being nothing than I am of being hurt." A former military officer turned chiropractor and nutritionist turned financial analyst, my true love is writing. I've got three novels, two comic books, and two screenplays alive and well (proof of life available upon request) in my head and the only mystery is...will I ever get them published or sold? Stay tuned, true believer!

Reader, Writer, Critic
Books And Authors I Like:
The usual suspects: Hammett, Chandler, Westlake, Christie, as well as some fresh fish like: Rankin, Crais, Thor, Swierczynski, and that Brubaker guy from Marvel Comics.
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
Rififfi, M, The Good Thief, Snatch, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Boob Tube: The Shield, Homicide, Murder One, the very short lived EZ Streets, and, above all else where nothing else comes close and against which all others shall be judged: The Wire.

    ooh!
I'm making the very first comment!
    Welcome.
    And love your author choices!
  • carole gill

    you'll get them published!
We just have to have that goal and go for it!
Thanks so much for your offer with help for research. so sweet of you!
I just don't have my finger on the beat that is New York anymore or even America! been here too long.
so I set the thing in the 1950's.
it's a time that though I was a child, I can still remember how I felt about things.
I grew up in Washington Heights where my story is set.
I remember the Michael Farmer killing and mention it in my work. that happened in '57.
we moved to 19th street and 2nd, when I was still in high school btw.
you're so lucky to have the magnificent Fifth Ave. Public library on your doorstep.
    best and thanks so much!
I might take you up on that!
and it works both ways! if you ever decide to write about the U.K. I know a swell Police Officer who works in West Yorkshire, he's writing screenplays for t.v. (trying to sell them but it looks hopeful)

    thanks
wall street, eh? some hive and with loads of stingers right? but are there bullish bees and bearish bees?!
    xxxx
  • Greymalkin

Oh, there's lots of stingers in this here Wall Street hive, for sure (can you say "Oil bubble"?) and the bearish bees outnumber the bullish by a good margin. No matter where you turn it's four shades of ugly out there. My ducats encased in my mattress are better off where they are for the time being.
  • D K Gaston

Hi Greymalkin, thanks for accepting my friendship request. I was in the Army, thanks for asking. I'm a comic book lover myself. I haven't been keeping up like I used to. Well, good talking with you, hope to speak with you more in the near future.
  • Michelle Martin

I didn't want to finish the book because I knew the author had committed suicide, and there would never be another.....
