Wonderful! I am just about out of my Christmas books so it will soon be time to pick up the next lot. BTW - Marion at Sleuth of Baker Street in Toronto called me when your first book came in and she had read it. She did not know I was waiting for it anyway - called to say it was great and she highly recommended it to me and to another Amelia fan here.
I used to wish my hair would do something other than tumble. But sleek, straight hair requires a hair drier and a straightening iron and I've found that simply owning these objects is not enough: you actually have to drag them out from under the sink and USE them. And that is way too much work.
So I tumble. And it's real, I promise. You should see it in the morning. Crazy Amazon. Not pretty--because I've just got unruly waves not perfect curls like SOME people.
But Sean, the real question is: Did Marcus enjoy you tugging on his hair while he was asleep????
Thanks for the invite, Tasha. Hello all. Glad the hair discussion is in full swing. I have quite a bit of hair, but you'd never know it cuz I can't figure out how to save a@#$%ing profile photo! Argh.
Nathan!!! Yay! You're definitely going to need a picture. Not that the anonymous grey guy thing you've got going now isn't good, it's just that....well, everybody wants to see your hair!
Mark, tumbling is overrated. Trust me. I've got an Amazon thing going right now. Not a pretty sight.
Since LCC was in Bristol last year does that make the UK on the left side of the Atlantic? Meaning you had to be born on the right side of the pond Tasha. Just face south when you look at a map. I think. Left and right can be tricky.
Hi Tasha,
Just talked with Marion at Sleuth of Baker Street. She has read your second book and loved it. Hopefully I will have my copy by this time next week.
Am about mid-way through A Poisoned Season and very much enjoying it. I know you were on the Amelia Peabody lists so am guessing you read Elizabeth Peters -- hopefully you will not object to me feeling that Emily is a bit of a cross between Amelia and Vicky. I like her very much and find her exploits highly entertaining. Love Colin (but then since my husband is also a Colin that is almost a given just from the name) and keep seeing Colin Firth in that role. I would like to throttle her mother though. Anyway -- well done (so far anyway) yet again.
And I did! Also compared notes with another MPM fan friend and she loved it too.
Have you read Diana Killian's Poetic Justice series? There is more than a touch of Vicky in that heroine too. I am really glad that MPM has had an influence on other authors - I love her books and a new and fresh twist on the style is wonderful. Your book is excellent. Now get off here and write another one real fast (I am a bossy mother so get lots of practice telling people what to do - at which point most of them do exactly as they want anyway).
So glad you liked the rest of APS....the third in the series, A Fatal Waltz...is in the hands of a copyeditor even as we speak and I'm starting work on the fourth.
I am just back from Provincial Parks, Great Lakes, BUGS and kids whining in a tent for days and days. I need good news --- when is your next book due out?
Thanks Tasha! I have a book list for September that is shaping up pretty nicely. Will add Elizabeth to it.
House is blessedly bug free and kids have enough room to whine out of my hearing. Only catch? 21 year old is having a crisis - girlfriend I think but he is really not saying. Ain't life grand?

But who are you trying to kid, Tasha? I mean, with that tumbling hair. Nobody's hair really tumbles like that.
Except maybe Marcus. His hair does tumble like that. I even tugged on it while he was sleeping, just to be sure it was real.
It is.

Marion is so nice. If you have not met her, try to hook up at a conference sometime - you are fast becoming a favourite author of hers.

Elizabeth Peters has been a huge influence on me and I'm flattered beyond measure that you'd consider Emily a cross between Amelia and Vicky.
I'll be keeping fingers crossed that you like the rest of the book.....
