I was born in Taunton, Somerset, but have lived on the Isle of Man for the past 4 years. My first novel is the comedy caper THE GOOD THIEF'S GUIDE TO AMSTERDAM. The second novel in the Charlie Howard series, THE GOOD THIEF'S GUIDE TO PARIS, is now published in the USA and will be out in the UK in February 2009.
June! That's excellent news Chris (and keeps me away from the infectious Book Depository where it's almost impossible to escape without filling a very large box :) )
Hi Chris.
I see from your WS that you're gonna be at Crime Fest. Me too. Do you know what panel you're gonna be on?
I'm hoping for something mid day...
Neil White on this site is also going.

Hi Chris,
I'm sure being a pensions lawyer has its moments. You improve peoples' lives. I wreck them.
Thanks for the invite, and see you in Bristol.
Neil
Thanks for accepting the invite. Welcome here. I'm about to head off on a road trip to Left Coast Crime in Denver. a short one, but should be fun.

Yes, be sure to check Dexter out, but make sure you watch it on the cable network. They started playing it on CBS here and it's just too edited, it takes away from the show. You will LOVE it!! I promise! :o)
You're coming to NY? The Blue Water Grill is a really nice restaurant!

You can take a carriage ride around the city... it's a little short but very nice and romantic. if it's not freezing out, of course.
Congrats to you and your honey!! I hope you have a wonderful day!
Good to meet you and hope to get to know you better. Will check over your books as well. I just had a traier done for my latest book, A Mothers Torment and hope it helps in the sales. If it does, I'll have one done for the other books I have.....I think it came out pretty good and they did a good job with it. It's on this site and also on www.amotherstorment.com Let me know what you think of it if you get to see it. Shirley
thanks Chris! I will let you know.
It's sounds so good, too.
Yup, I try to have the page as interesting as I can, because I don't have a book yet to put up there!

and thanks so much for your good wishes.
Yup, was brought over at the age of 2 and the boat back always seems to be cancelled no matter how often the locals tell me 'There's a boat in the morning' Congrats on your two books. I'll have to have a read now. Paul D. Brazill an English writer living in Poland mentioned you lived on the island.
Hi Chris Thoroughly enjoyed reading your Amsterdam GTGT (ah the nostalgia, as I used to live there - in addition to IOM !) and am thus sourcing your GTG to Paris - then will move on to the Vegas one; want to do them in order. I see the Dutch version is entitled NACHTDIEF in AMSTERDAM...pretty apt as it means Night-thief in A'dam.
Hope you get some good hype in Port Erin in April. You might like to know I did you a very positive review on Amazon for GTGT A'dam.
Hey, Chris, I was just reading (in the Bookseller briefing) that THE GOOD THIEF'S GUIDE TO PARIS has been shortlisted for the Last Laugh Award at Crimefest. Many congratulations, it's well deserved and I'm absolutely thrilled for you. I loved the book - I hope you win! :)
Crimefest... alas, probably not. We'll see. I love the thought of seeing everyone, but the thought of Bristol (more to the point, travelling to and from) doesn't fill me with glee. Hey ho!
Hi Chris; Just a few suggestions for future GTGT locations (apart from Rome which was already mentioned a couple of times so no doubt in the pipeline, and I think Venice) but how about Nice, Prague, Rio, and ...Monaco.
