Wow!!! Seeing you in uniform...you had a very interesting career, I bet! Did you inherit the plastics plant? I worked a few years in plastic injection molding. Then a couple of years sewing, making splints for all the different parts of the body. I love to write also.

I have had many light strokes over the years. They call them TIA's these days. But thank God, any paralysis I had lasted no more than three days!!! I do a LOT of sewing. That takes up a lot of my time. I have got to get back to my writing, but I am fighting a major battle with depression at this time.

I do understand about family issues -- I moved 3,000 miles to get away from mine! If you ever have to visit them again, consider allowing a little time to come to Sedona afterwards. It's a great place to chill out, and I'd love to see you again.

Thanks for the comment on my picture! Bookseller Jeff Kreider took that at the last LA Book Festival I appeared at, and he lets me use it at no cost. I hate the ones I paid photographers to take.

No...not the federal judge (I wish!); although that was my mother's dream. I've held dozens of jobs, but most of my work life was spent in commercial lighting sales, then healthcare (worked my way up to RN). I've also been a process server and, once or twice, a hired gun for a friend who needed to protect his, uh, 'crop'. Pretty much as far from the law as possible. But you are a inspiration to me, and a fine writer, as well as a warm and supportive member of SMFS.

I am just now beginning to be able to get out for my walks. I have more good 'excuses' not to than reasons. Like today. My equilibirum is off due to a really bad sinuse infection.
I am full of stories short and long. I probably have at least twenty 'handwritten' ones (pre-computer) and several that just need a final draft!
I deal with my grief by writing about the one I lost. I wanted to be a writer before I knew how to write. Tho I was the only one who could read it, it told a story.

There are a lot of cool authors here... but me, I don't actually write much crime fiction or mysteries (except for my granddaughters).... I just review people who do1 :o)

We got together later with the travel agent who pulled together the trip and pitched the idea of a mystery cruise. I came up with the title: Murder On the High Seas: A Cruise To Die For.
I heard today that the travel agent can pull it together by next fall. 7 days sailing the Mexican Riviera, leaving from Los Angeles, Carnival Splendour seems the probable choice, rates are approx. $350 inside cabin, $550 balcony.

I'm suppose to get together with my cohorts in crime and come up with panels and programs so we know how many meeting rooms to reserve. Any ideas?
Is this too soon for anyone to plan? There wouldn't be any extra fees for the conference but we're going to try to negotiate with the ship to sell books. And there wouldn't be any silly rule about who's an author. In fact, I'd love to see small press publishers show up and show their wares!

How is the rewriting coming? I've dusted off a children's book I wrote in the 80's, Pirates of the Caribbean meets the Food Channe. Agent at the time told me kids weren't interested in pirates, they wanted astronauts. HA! Tell that to Jonny Depp!
