Dexter
True Blood
CSI (original)
Blade Runner
Mephisto (look it up)
I've had this foggy recollection of a book reviewed in the Free Press earlier this year that I was going to get my hands on. In searching the net I stumbled across your review of Lamothe's book, Finger's Twist. That wasn't the book I was after, but it was also one that I meant to look up. Then I found your recent comments on here about it, too. I really am going to have to get my hands on it.
But, maybe you could help me remember this other book. Forgive me if the memory is vague and thin. I don't remember if you were the reviewer. It seems to me it was a small Canadian press, crime story, corruption and lots of other nasty business in a First Nation. It caught my eye because that's the kind of story I'd like to write someday. Any thoughts you have would be great.
John - I clicked your Winnipeg Free Press connection, and was somehow heartened that somebody was having worse weather than Milwaukee. Robert Crais is also one of my favorite authors - he's doing a reading at a small independent mystery book store in Milwaukee tonight. I usually try to support the small stores, and I'm embarrassed to take in a book for a signing with a Barnes and Noble sticker on it.
