A writer with one novel called Boomerang under my belt so far. A follow up to that one and a stand alone in the works. A husband, dad, middling guitar player, deteriorating tennis player, former actor, current lover of theater and neophyte oenophile.
Anything by Twain or Wodehouse; practically all of Dickens; Pratchett, Gaimen, L'Engle, Donald E. Westlake, Tolkien, Edith Wharton, Thackeray, Austen, Shakespeare (although that stuff has to at the very least, read out loud), Carl Hiassen, Bill Bryson, Thomas Cahill...
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
Movies: Local Hero, Singing in the Rain, The Great Race, darned near anything with Michael Caine, My Favorite Year, anything with Astaire and Rogers, The Marx Brothers, Some Like it Hot...
A great place to start would be with "Don't Ask" by Donald E. Westlake. It is part of his Dortmunder series of novels. And of course Carl Hiaasen is a master of this genre too. A couple of my particular favorites by him are "Nature Girl", "Skinny Dip" and "Lucky You". Okay, that's one more than a couple.
If you have an ereader and $0.89 you don't care much about, my own "Boomerang" is a bit of P.G. Wodehouse meets John LeCarre.
