    Not many people know that Faulkner rewrote "To Have and Have Not" into the movie that most of us know more than the book -- The book, to my way of thinking, is classic noir. A guy trying to make a living loses and arm, then his life, while everything goes wrong for him. (This is a response to yours on my page.)
