Hi, Glen - I was just in Oxford, MS a couple of weeks ago, my first time there. Nice place. And speaking of TKAM, a favorite of mine as well, I visited Monroeville, AL, too. Good luck with your writing!
  • Jeff Markowitz

    I love your post-revision goals.
  • Brandt Dodson

    Thanks Glen.
We have The Mystery Company here in Indianapolis and Jim Huang is a true friend. His support has been unflagging.
We really need to support these people.

    Good luck with your writing.

Tupelo, huh? Well you are a neighbor! LOL

The Forte mystery series sounds interesting. My series, BAYOU series, takes place in a fictional little town in south Louisiana. Being from Louisiana, it was like going "home."

Good luck on finding the right literary agent. It's hard to find one you "click" with and is excited about your work.

Thanks for reminding me of Lee Child and Reacher - I love that series. Along with anything Block, there's a series I wait for the next installment of all the time.

Hey, Glen - Yep, I'll be at Killer Nashville. The workshops sound great. They should give me a good kick in the pants, writing-wise. :) I look forward to seeing you there.
  • Jennie Bentley/Bente Gallagher

Glen, good to hear from you. I'll probably drop in at Killer Nashville - can't really not, can I, when it's right here? - but I've got a deadline coming up, so that has to come first, I guess. I doubt I'll be at everything, but I'll be around from time to time. I'll keep an eye out for you.

Okay, I'm happy; another New Orleans writer. And I love the idea of the body guard specialist. Have you checked agentquery.com for agents? It's a wonderful resource and free.
My book, The Beatitudes, is a paranormal thriller set in New Orleans. It will be out in the fall and I am donating all royalties directly to the New Orleans Public Library Foundation. Libraries support the infrastructure of a great city, so I have started The Beatitudes Network to promote awareness of the importance of public libraries in NOLA.
The blogsite www.beatitudesinneworleans.blogspot.com describes the Network, has excerpts from The Beatitudes, recipes, and more. Merci mille fois. Lyn Lejeune.
Writers, please pass the word…..it’s for a good cause….don’t let the libraries of New Orleans or the US go the way of The Great Library of Alexandria. P.S. just posted an excerpt on my Crimespace page.

Awesome news, Glen!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. It was so great meeting you. I'm sure we'll run into each other again on down the road somewhere. Keep me in the loop on your book's progress. It sure sounds like a winner!

Thanks, Glenn _ a little advise - what would you do about this situation? My all time favorite crime writer is James Lee Burke - I spent the early part of my childhood in Abbeville, LA where I was born. That's only a few miles from New Iberia where his books are set (and New Orleans, like my book). Anyway I wrote him asking if I could send him a copy of my book and what it was about, set in New Orleans, all royalties to the NOLA Public Library Foundation.
He writes me back asking me to wait until he gets back to New Iberia to get it to him. He doesn't leave an address or anything. Do I write back and ask : what is your address or can I bring it to you since I'm not far from you in New Iberia...(yes, it now available on Amazon and other places). I'm nervous; he's like my icon. Hi Glen. Great news about your WIP; good luck! I was there, at least part of the time. Saturday afternoon and most of Sunday. I'm not actually a drop-dead gorgeous blonde with killer legs, though, so you may have missed me. And I enjoyed it, too. Lots of good information. I especially enjoyed the sex-panel (not what you might think), and the 10 ways your manuscript will end up in the circular file. Who requested you WIP?
  • Jennie Bentley/Bente Gallagher

Donna Bagdasian seemed like an interesting woman. I didn't get to talk to her personally, and didn't make a big push to, since I've already got an agent, but I enjoyed her commentary in the 10 Blunders panel. Will you be coming up to Nashville for the Southern Festival of Books in October, as well? Maybe I'll see you then!
  • Robin Caroll

Hey, Glen! Got all the revisions on book 3 done...now working on book 4! It's great! Especially when I got a great review today!
  • Mary Saums

Thanks, Glen. I appreciate that. I do hope you'll enjoy it. Well, I'm laboring today over the next book. Hope you and family are having a fun non-Labor Day. :)
  • Lisa Stiles

Thanks, Glen! I appreciate it. I enjoyed Killer Nashville a lot - it was my first conference, though, and my head was spinning by Sunday evening. It was very encouraging.
  • Mary Saums

Hey, Glen - Just checking in to see what's up. Anything exciting happening in Tupelo? Nothing much going on here. We had So. Festival of Books this past weekend. I turned in the final (please, let it be final) edits on book 2. Are you working on Hunka The Sequel? :)
  • Mary Saums

Whoopeeee! Congratulations! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. No, no big plans. We'll probably go down to see Mama. Otherwise, I'll be squeezing in writing time wherever I can. :)
  • joe miller

    Glen,
    Thanks for the encouragement.
Just sent off my first proposal this week.

Smokahontas, here. :) Sorry, but you'll have to wait until March for T&T2. No, I didn't get a note about the latest Hunka news. Email me!

Hi Glen, Al Forte sounds like a true Son of Spade... So if you want to submit a chapter of a novel in progress or short story just let me know and I'll publish it at Sons of Spade.
