Hey, another Aussie on board, even if you're an ex-pat. And with a creepy profile photo to boot, you're sure to have a ball here! Welcome aboard.
  • Betty Duffy

Hi Daryl, Imagine meeting you hear, I haven't tried Peter Temple yet and haven't heard of David Simon, the others I like too. haven't seen The Wire, but like the rest.

Hey Daryl, (i feel strange using your real name)
We all seem to be following each other around cyber space, x.

Hi Daryl and thank you for the kind comments - we're still fiddling around with the details on the new austcrime - the original formatting doesn't convert all that well - but we'll get there. Hopefully this format will allow us to handle "breaking new" much more elegantly.

I confess to being a huge fan of Australian Terriers - despite the fact that they are known as the termigents around here - great personalities, great companion dogs. Ever so slightly bats :)

Daryl - I'm sorry I just realised I forgot to answer your question about who is hot.

Well other than Mr Temple who remains high on everybody's lists - there have been some stellar new releases recently - Katherine Howell (you'll find her here as well as on AustCrime) some of the old stagers are still producing great books. Peter Corris has a short listed entry in the Ned Kelly's for this year, Garry Disher's last - Chain of Evidence (I thought anyway) was one of the best of his Hal Challis series. Lindy Cameron has also edited a Sisters in Crime release of the Scarlet Stiletto Winners.

Ah well - if you're going to be here try Leigh Redhead as well - she's published by Angus & Robertson and believe me - between now and January... we should be able to make that Jeff's Shed Load :)
  • Linda Lee

    Oh yah I found you
  • Linda Lee

Are you watching the Rugby World Cup over there?
  • Sandra Ruttan

Wait... wait... OMG, I'm completely distracted by the revelation that Betty hasn't heard of David Simon!

Hi Daryl, good to see you here.
  • Joanne Parker

Hey D! Both doing really well thanks looking forward to a great sporting weekend.

Hope you and The Jingo are both well after your trip!
  • Sandra Ruttan

Daryl, you still have it wrong. David Simon is Laura Lippman's husband! (Okay, wouldn't it be funny to do a survey of who is more famous? Well, maybe not funny...)

You're right, Betty doesn't know what she's missing!
  • Joanne Parker

Yay we can see you! Wahoo!
  • Joanne Parker

It's probably somewhere near (or just after) New Year where you are so I thought I'd say that I hope you and The jingo have had a great time away and

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

08's not been a bad year so far, long may it continue! I hope your move goes well, and you get plenty work in on your novel while your offline. Just think, you'll have a whole month of my nonsense wittering blog to catch up on when you're back! (grin)
