I have a preference for British and European (particularly Scandinavian) crime fiction, but also like many American authors, and am trying to read more Australian authors. Current faves include:
British: Ian Rankin, Reginald Hill, Mark Billingham, Stephen Booth, Val McDermid, Denise Mina, Christopher Brookmyre, Stuart MacBride, Ken Bruen.
European/Scandinavian: Henning Mankell, Jo Nesbo, Fred Vargas, Karin Fossum, Arnaldur Indridason.
Australian: Peter Temple, Shane Maloney, Barry Maitland, Gary Disher, David Owen.
American: Jan Burke, Sharan Newman, Lawrence Block, PJ Tracy.
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
TV faves change depending on what's currently on, but tend to watch mainly British dramas and comedies, including:
Shameless, Extras, Spooks, Dalziel and Pascoe, Wire in the Blood, Red Dwarf, New Tricks, Doctor Who, etc.
Others include: Unit One (Danish), Sopranos.
Helen,
I noticed you because you look a lot like a friend (and fellow retired teacher). I'm pretty sure she's in Arizona, though!
We enjoy some of the same authors. I always enjoy Mark Billingham at mystery cons as well. He's quite a comic.

I'm a 4MA participant too. Wow, have I learned about a lot of mysteries from that group. Nice now to put a face with your name.
