As S.H. Baker, I write the Dassas Cormier Mystery Series, based in SW Louisiana in the 20s. I love writing; it helps me work out my daily engineering anxieties. I also write romance as Sarah Storme -- got to stay well-rounded.
I love books! My favorite authors are James Lee Burke, Ellis Peters, Dick Francis, Dame Agatha, Eliot Pattison, Sandra Brown, Nevada Barr, Mark Twain, David L. Robbins (one of my new favorites after reading "Last Citadel" -- wow! What a writer!), and so many more.
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
Forever Knight, all the BBC shows (As Time Goes By, Ballykissangel, etc.), Mystery on PBS (especially Foyle's War and Cadfael), Sound of Music, Aliens, My Fair Lady, Law & Order (the original), The Andy Griffith Show, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Gladiator, and too many to list.
I'd love to! Wouldn't that be fun -- covering different generations in the same area! Sounds like we could really play that up big!
BTW -- I love Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Spent a weekend at Abique Ranch at a querandidisa (sp?) workshop once, and stopped off at the 10,000 Waves on a snowy day! Great photos!
Be sure to let me know if you ever come through these parts. With my husband's job, we're everywhere. Live in Lake Charles but we'll be working in Beaumont after the first of the year. B&N in Bmt. used to arrange a pretty good signing. I'll be happy to spread the word to area writer's groups. Just holler. :)
My first mystery is online for free right now: http://tinyurl.com/onykn5
This is in honor of the impending release of #4, "The Not-So-High Seas." I hope you enjoy!
