Profile Information:

Hometown:
Snow Belt, Ohio
About Me:
I'm a die-hard book lover. Love books. Love reading. Love that moment when you walk into a bookstore and feel like a kid again, because in the stacks of books there are a million worlds to explore, and million different lives to live.

And I'm a "kinda" published writer--lucky enough to learn the craft while making a few small pennies--but not a RWA-recognized or NY-published author, yet!

Books And Authors I Like:
In no particular order, and with many left out (because I'm too lazy to think real hard at the moment):
Nora Roberts, Stephen King, Barry Eisler, John Irving, J.K. Rowling, Janet Evanovich, Neil Gaiman, John le Carre, Laurell K. Hamilton ... and SO many more, dear God, so many, many, many more.
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
24 (love/laugh relationship), Alias, NCIS, The Unit, Gilmore Girls, Brothers & Sisters, Six Degrees ...

My favorite movie EVER is Chocolat ...

    spyscribbler,

Thanks for inviting me to be a friend. Bookstores are about the only commercial establishments in which I feel comfortable; I share your feelings about them.

Thanks for the invitaton. You're right about bookstores. I used to think I wanted to work in a bookstore when I retired. Now, I just want to browse, and I hope soo, to sign books!

Literacy, in the sense of loving language, struggling to find in words the lyricism of music, to invoke feelings beyond mere words, and to seek meaning in the quiet spaces between the words, is a precious tradition that -- I fear - we are at risk of losing unless there are more people like you. Thanks for the reassurance, and for the invite. Of course, I accept.

Hey SpyScribbler, Do you write intrigue with an espionage element? So do I--sometimes. Looks like you could be a protagonist in a lot of suspense/thrillers. Cheryl Swanson

Thanks for the invitation! It's nice to meet you!

And I agree that Chocolat is a terrific film--great cast, great writing, great direction.

Good luck with the writing progress--I think reading good books is the best writing class anyone can take!

Thank you for adding me to your friends. I love your avatar! I took karate for a year and loved it. I was even in competition and got third place. I was only a white belt at the time.

Don't mind my syncopes. I blink in and out, hoping for dazzle. Last time we were on music, lyrics, words. When I'm writing I sometimes sit back and wait for the words to come out of the scene. If the experience is real enough (art imitates life) then it has a generative force. Listen carefully.

Looking for fiction with a capital F? The book of the moment is William Gibson's "Spook Country" Supposed to be sci-fi, but really genre defying.
