About Me:

I am a woman of many talents and interests. After a decade-long career in the Information Technology field, I began to pursue my passion of writing in 2004.

A part-time freelance journalist, I've had more than 175 articles published in a variety of local and regional periodicals. My fiction has appeared in Flashshot, and in "Slices of Life", an anthology published by the Lompoc Writers Association in 2005. I am hard at work on two mystery novels and an assortment of short stories. Since 2006, I've been a member of Sisters in Crime, an organization for women who write mysteries.

Books And Authors I Like:

Anything and everything. Of late, a lot of Erle Stanley Gardner, Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, Ross McDonald and the like. Also, Sue Grafton, Marcia Muller, Dana Stabenow, J. A. Konrath, Sue Henry, Elizabeth George, Lawrence Block. I also read a lot of books about writing; some favorites include the work of Natalie Goldberg, Julia Cameron, Anne Lamott, and Lawrence Block's incomparable "Telling Lies for Fun and Profit". Non-fiction treasures that occupy a place of honor on my desk include several textbooks on crime scene investigation, a recent-ish edition of the California Penal Code, and a copy of the U.S. Military's "Manual for Courts-Martial" given to me by a dear friend.

Movies And TV Shows I Like:

North Mission Road, Forensic Files, Men in Trees, CSI and Law & Order in all their variations, all the old cop and detective dramas now in reruns. Oh, and the news, of course -- I think a great many writers are news junkies.
