Social Worker, Blogger, writer, mother, grandmother, reader, television and book addict. I live in the one of the most beautiful (and expensive) cities on the planet. I'm a late bloomer: Received my B.S. degree at the age of 45, and my MSW four years later. I started reading Agatha Christie mysteries in high school, then moved on to Conan Doyle, and finaslly discovered Ellery Queen just after graduating from high school. I've been hooked on mysteries ever since.

Books And Authors I Like:
Robert B. Parker, J.D. Robb 'In Death' series, Elmore Leonard, Michael Connelly, Jonathan Kellerman, Marcia Muller, and Joyce Carol Oates (her mysteries are freaky).

Plus Christie, Queen, and Conan Doyle. I've gotten out of the habit now, but have read Ellery Queen's magazine for years. It's a great way to study the short story.

    Hi Beth Ann, I'm a "late-bloomer", too! I started writing in my 40's. Wasn't it Dear Abby who said (to the writer who was wondering whether she should go to medical school, because she was "old")--"what will you be doing in five years, if you *don't* go to medical school? I really took that advice to heart!
