...or maybe, Jason, you only expect some to ADMIT they get this. Who knew Sterling Hayden was an American Idol fan?

My GOD Jason, you're even more handsome in cyberspace than you are in person!

I have some pics of our favorite Galwegian over on my page, doing what he does best.

    Hope you're well!

  • Tiffany Leigh

I'm sorry I missed the KGB reading this past Sunday; I hope it went swimmingly (or something more aptly hard-boiled and gritty). Have a good Edgars week xx
  • Olen Steinhauer

Jason--nice to see you at the Edgars, and I did admire the all-black suit. Your photo here is right on, man.

Hi, Jason, thanks for the invite. The follower looks good. There's nothing like a little obsession to get your blood flowing!
  • Dave Zeltserman

Hey Jason, I was going to make some smartass comment about the Sox-Yankees, but after tonight the 12 1/2 game lead will have shrunk to 8 1/2, so I think I'll keep quiet on that front. Best of luck with The Follower--I hope it's big for you.
  • Marta Stephens

Hi Jason. I just took a look at your website. Follower sounds like my next purchase. Thanks for adding me to your group!

    Hi man
Thanks for the welcome. Great CV. You're well past the tricky 2nd novel phase that I'm wrestling with I see. Good luck with The Follower.
  • Dennis Venter

Hi Jason, just finished reading Bust - hilarious and edgy stuff. If I may ask - how was it collaborating with Ken? Practically, I mean, being on different continents and all.
  • Dennis Venter

Thanks for the comment and telling me about Slide - have already added it to my wishlist.
  • Regina Williams

Thank you for the invite. Sorry, I'm on vacation and I've been slow about getting back to people.
  • Newt Love

Quite a catalog for a young man. Good for you! I'm hoping old age and treachery will help me become prolific.
  • Ken Isaacson

    Hi Jason...

Just discovered Crimespace a few days ago. Another excuse not to write! Terrific....
  • chelbel

    Thank you for the invite!
  • Harry Shannon

    Howdy, Jason
  • Carla Harker

Love this site. I think I've added about a dozen books to my wishlist (including The Follower) since I joined.
  • Johnno

I just finished Lights Out and wanted to congradulate you on the character of Christina Mercado. Hard-boiled crime fiction like this rarely produces three-dimensional female characters. You know, they're always some variation of the hooker-with-a-heart-of-gold, or a femme farale, or some impossibly perfect 23 year-old runway model with a Harvard Law degree, but I loved Christina. She was very real - I understood her motivations and actions (not to give anything away) up until the very end. Nice one.
  • carole gill

Hi Jason! when did you get started writing, in kindergarten?! sorry, you look back fondly on remarks like that in years to come. just found your name on a link from Megan Abbott's website. will read you. I am aspiring at the advanced age of 150 to finishing my noir novel! all the best!
  • carole gill

    thanks so much. And yeah,
    Babs came from Brooklyn!
  • Mary Elwood

Love your books...I have read them all twice! I just finished The Follower and am already waiting for the next one to come out. PS Love your collaborations with Ken Bruen. Best of luck and much success with your book sales and hope to meet you at a book signing in LA one of these days
  • terry bowman

I finished Cold Caller on the plane on the way home from Denver. Great story. The gang over at The yahoo group rara_avis have been having a "what u reading" discussion and your name is prominent on their reading lists.
  • Meredith Anthony

Jason-- Great article in today's New York Times! We love it!
  • Jeff Sherratt

    Hey, Jason,

Just finished Slide! Terrific! Bruen said part three makes SLIDE seem like a cozy, Jaysus!

A coincidence, in my book I referred to the Beatles "Let it Be." And mentioned John Lennon, implying he was the performer. Similar to page 158 in SLIDE. A beautiful dark haired woman set me straight. You should be so lucky.

Hope to see you again at next year's L. A. Times Festival of Books, or sooner if you’re going to be here on the Coast before then.
