Profile Information:

Hometown:
Toronto
About Me:
I live in a family house full of too many daughters, cats and stuff from past generations. Nothing beats tea, in any incarnation, as long as it's real tea and not some flavoured tisane. I am working on short stories, and fighting with a first crime novel.
I Am A:
Writer
Books And Authors I Like:
PD James makes me hear cellos play! Sayers, Marsh and the other early grand dames are wonderful. I love Elizabeth Peter's wit and characters. I enjoy Val McDermid, Ian Rankin, Stallwood, Leone, and a bunch of other Brit crime novellists. I also enjoy many of the current Canadian crime writers. Basically, anything involving multiple bound pages with good plot and characters deserves attention...
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
AbFab, Law and Order UK, MI5, Inspector Murdock Mysteries, Inspector Lewis, Mystery theatre, House, NCIS, Monk, Bones, Being Erica, and almost any home renovation show on HGTV. I watch CSI Miami for my Florida fix when I'm shivering in the cold at home in Toronto.

Yoo Hoo! About time there lady! Michelle is here somewhere, and lots of folk from Moldy - Merlot, Jen, Jack, Nicole, Mary Saums, Patricia, most of us in fact. Peruse my buddy list and see who you know.

    Hi Jane.
I have it on good authority that you are 'good folk'.
Lynne said so, and she is always right!
  • LC Fraser

Good picture Janie. I hope you like it here.
  • Patricia

    Hi Jane...welcome to crimespace

Hi, Jane - Off to Harrogate? Oooh, I'm so jealous. I see some of our nefarious friends have already visited here. :) Be sure and tell us all about your trip when you get back. No doubt we'll be at the pub!

Last post the daughters were off to London....hard when they go far away. But when you write it makes the time pass and you go into another world. It has given me a purpose now that I'm an empty nester....My book, The Beatitudes, is a paranormal thriller set in New Orleans. It will be out in the fall and I am donating all royalties directly to the New Orleans Public Library Foundation. Libraries support the infrastructure of a great city, so I have started The Beatitudes Network to promote awareness of the importance of public libraries in NOLA.
The blogsite www.beatitudesinneworleans.blogspot.com describes the Network, has excerpts from The Beatitudes, recipes, and more. Merci mille fois. Lyn Lejeune.
Writers, please pass the word…..it’s for a good cause….don’t let the libraries of New Orleans or the US go the way of The Great Library of Alexandria. P.S. just posted an excerpt on my page here on crimespace.

Hi Janie! You must be long back from London and up north by now I suspect. Let me know when you have a free day down this way and we will try to get together. Mind you, getting me out of the house is not so easy .....

Congrats on a great book launching yesterday! Wonderfully done and the book looks just great. Perfect Christmas gift for a few folk.

    Last night was amazing - my first book launch and signing at Sleuth of Baker Street in Toronto. Lynne was there before going off to hear Margaret Atwood. The store was so full of people you couldn't move. They sold out the 100 copies they had ordered in for the event, but our editor came to the rescue with 80 more. Makes me want to take this writing thing seriously :}}}}} Some people bought copies for their entire book group. It does have some good stories though, with a crime Christmas theme, so it's a fun read for December, and makes a good Christmas present at a reasonable price. I have my fingers crossed for its launch on the world. Jane :}}}}}

Yoo Hoo! I know you are home again now --- how is the cold doing and when do you head to Harrowgate?

Are any crime space members going to be at Harrogate Crime Fest? I'll be roaming the halls, looking murderous, this weekend and would love to say hello to fellow members. Jane
