Hi Kandy, I just read your comments on NYC in The Deadly Dose and enjoyed the tips. I'm going there for a couple of days in November. It will be my first time in NYC  and I was wondering about where to stay and how you could get around. Thanks.

Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”

Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."

Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"

Book Synopsis:

The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.

The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.

I think the database you're talking about is called CODIS...

Hi! Does anyone happen to know the name of the database that stores and cross-references the results of DNA samples from different cases? I saw it on an episode of Cold Case Files but didn't write down the name.

I exchanged several letters with Charles Ng who is convicted of the torture murdes of 11 people, including babies, the mothers and fathers. He is awaiting execution in San Quentin. In his letters he quote Camus, an essay entitled, Reflections on the Guillotine. I did a face-to-face death row interview in Montana State Prison with Ron Smith, who faces execution there. He tole me how the ghosts of the two young men he murdered, haunted him, appearing at the foot of his bed in his cell. I did a face to face death row interview in Huntsville Texas with a cop killer days before his execution. I conducted a telephone interview with another cop killer, himself a former cop. I did another interview with a convicted sex killer after he called me in the newsroom from the psych ward where he was being treated - he'd tricked officials into thinking he was calling his lawyer. Called me to recount detail by detail his crimes. Very chilling. I had a pimp who murdered a young girl call me from jail after his arrest to scream that he was innocent. He wasn't. I had child killer who'd escaped from prison in Alberta agree to an interview after he was arrested trying to rob a bank in in the Seattle area. I am sure I am forgetting a few others.
