Almost anything by Ruth Rendell, P.D. James, James Lee Burke, Sharyn McCrumb, William G. Tapply--and so many others. Since I also write juvenile fiction, I read a lot of novels for younger readers. M.T. Anderson is one of my fave writers for that market.
