How is it almost July?

I am looking down at my hands and they are looking old. When did that happen? And how can it almost be July? Work has been quiet so I am happily writing several hours a day. Which leads me to the next question - Why the hell am I not finished this first draft yet? In the Spring of Things and the Whidbey Conference

I hate to point it out, but here on the West Coast, Spring is gearing up and the cherry trees are starting to bloom. It is of course raining today but yesterday I hand tilled the veggie patch and saw a big fat bumble bee on the flowering rhododendron. My condolences to those under a meter of snow back east.

Looking Ahead

My last post was full of optimism but alas writing nirvana was not mine in November. I wrote only 10,000 words and then my Dad suddenly became ill, went into hospital, almost died then was diagnosed with advanced liver cancer. That put a a serious dent in my creative side not to mention my very core. Things have settled down, my Dad is as well as he can be and I can now think of writing again. In Nanoland

November is here - yaaaa! It used to be my least favorite month but now it has become if not my favorite, certainly my most productive. I am again participating in National Write Month - NANOWRIMO - www.nanowrimo.org - to jump start my current novel. There is nothing like writing 50,000 words in a month to get you going. It's not pretty but very effective. Got to go... 49,000 words to go...
