My second Bangkok thriller, THE FOURTH WATCHER, will be released on June 24 by William Morrow, with a terrific company and an aggressive support campaign. I'm currently in Southeast Asia, writing the third in the series, tentatively titled MISDIRECTION, so I'm out of the loop for some of the pre-bub activity, but there's still plenty to do.

It's interesting to watch all the activity from this distance -- almost as though it all concerns someone else's book. But, of course, as soon as I get back I'll hit the ground running. Three days after getting back to California I fly to NY for bookstore signings and ThrillerFest and then a bunch of East coast signings, then fly back to LA in stages, stopping for signings and writing workshops (which I do in some bookstores) along the way. Just thinking about it makes me tired.

On the other hand, it's a lot better than not having a new book coming out.

Hi, Emily --

Yes, but Barry at Book 'Em hasn't set a date yet. I'll be elsewhere in the LA area -- Small World in Venice, Mystery Bookstore in Westwood, a store in Thousand Oaks and (I think) Book Carnival in Tustin. And a bunch of other places, including NY, Nashville, Boulder, Denver, Phoenix, Tucson, Seattle, SF, San Mateo, etc.

I'll let you know when/if Barry sets a date.
