In this section I like to share good new mysteries and places to find them. One good place to find everything cool about my genre is the website called “
In Reference to Murder.”
The site is maintained by my home girl BV Lawson – (all the cool kids are in Northern VA.) BV loves research, for which she blames her mother, the librarian, since she apparently passed along those librarian genes. She is also a much published writer, and has accumulated a listing of references that are helpful to readers and writers of mysteries.
For mystery fans her site has a nice Bibliographies section, with book and author lists, and sections for mystery Awards, Blogs, Bookstores, Conferences, Games, Magazines and Newsletters, and Reviews.
For mystery writers, there are sections on links for Agents, Publishers, the Business of Writing, and lots of references to help with research for stories in the Crime Scene Investigation, Crimes by Type, Dictionaries, Forensics, Government and Law, Police Procedures, Private Investigation, and True Crime. The web site is updated on a continuing basis, so it’s best to bookmark and visit often.
