The rights to my debut thriller Mixed Blood (Henry Holt & Co 03 03 2009) have been optioned by GreeneStreet Films (NYC) with Samuel L. Jackson attached to star and Kelly Masterson (Before The Devil knows You're Dead) to write the screenplay. Active negotiations are underway for Phillip Noyce (Patriot Games, The Bone Collector, The Quiet American) to direct. Via Jody Hotchkiss at Hotchkiss & Associates.

Congrats on this news. I read Mixed Blood and enjoyed it. I think GreeneStreet made a right choice in choosing your book to be made into a movie.

Hey Roger, congrats, that's great news. Very exciting. Samuel Jackson is terrific. I'm about to be announcing similar news for one of my books--contracts are being FedExed to me Monday. I'd love to talk to you offlist about how all this happened, how long it took, etc. Mine took over 2 years with a lot of different players along the way, and a lot of false starts before it finally came together. Did you want or try to get yourself as the screenwriter for this project?
