Thanks for the 'add," LJ. I love the title as well, The Sex Club." I'm afraid I'm not a very good empty nester - I forgot to change the locks.

H.P. Lovecraft is the father of Weird tales. If you've read King's shorts Jeruselem's Lot or the Mist, both of them are Lovecraft inspired.

Clive Barker is best known for the creation of the Hellraiser movies based on his novella The Hellbound Heart.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

hi,LJ I also love Anne McCaffery, dragons of pern series, and Stephen Donaldson, Thomas covenant series, so you know my tastes how the hell did i end up writing crime fiction.
My agent has asked me to write a kids thriller, but guess what it has turned into a fantasy.

Hey L. J. ,
That's great. I've found a huge disparity between jurisdictions; some are incredibly helpful, some will totally stonewall you.
Good luck!

Thanks so much for the friend-addition. Second time around is double-scary - and frustrating - if you have editors in London and New York who have different visions of what the book should be. I'm getting there, though, slowly but surely! Love that title - who wouldn't pick up a book called The Sex Club?? And you're right about the Power of Jack ... it's bloody hard work trying to find a male-hero name that's any different. It could well be the fuck-like 'k' that does it ... Or maybe it's just Jack Nicholson's fault - so damn cool he made every other name seem feeble by comparison!

Thanks L.J. Hey, you're just down the coast - left coast neighbors. I have a bizarre memory from Eugene from when I was 10. We had been driving all day on our way to California and stopped for dinner at a quirky cafe. The sun had set and the sky was steel blue and a wind whipped off the water. We had been singing 'Hotel California' in the car and I was completely freaked. I was convinced we would never be able to leave our motel. I think I was a little overtired...it was sunny in the morning and no one refused us exit. I may take you up on the editing one day!

Hi L.J.,
Great to hear good things are being said about my books! Yes, the psychology/criminology background is very handy...although not as good as being an ex-cop, forensic pathologist or something!

Hello L.J. -- Yeah, I have seen your posts on DL as well. Always far more succinct and intelligent than I. Have been doing my utmost to stay outta trouble over there. Have noticed a marked fall off regarding number of comments in general there, especially of late. Not sure why. However, your book is being spoken of there quite a bit! Congrats! The perfect title helps.
Will add you as a friend!
Thanks and will get this message to you.

Thanks for your comment. I agree about the spouses, though. It's hard to write about the violent deaths of children when you are surrounded by friends with youngsters. Well, as an author you have to do it anyway but I'm curious if I can write this way by the time I have children of my own ...

Glad you like Greg McKenzie. I picked it because I wanted a Scottish name but not my own. Didn't realize I was making a power play. He's gone over well with readers and reviewers.

Hi L.J.,
Thanks for the comment. I agree that short stories are tougher than novels. I spend more effort page for page on a short story than on a novel.

How are Kindle sales? I've been thinking about Kindle for a previously published novel that's no longer in print.

I hope the Sex Club sells well.

Glad things are looking up. And thanks for the good wishes. I've been so anxious lately, waiting for this day to arrive but I'm also nervous about it. I hear my books are out early and people are starting to pick them up. Can't wait to actually see them on the shelves. Have a good week and thanks again!
