Hi, I've been writing for seventeen years and am the author of six novels, numerous short stories and poems. I was shortlisted for the Harry Bowling Novel Award in 2006, longlisted for the Betty Bolingbroke-Kent Novel Award in 2005, and shortlisted for the Royal Literary Fund Awards in 2004 and the Asham Award for Women Writers in 2003. I'm one of the directors of publishing company, Goldenford Publishers, and my crime novel, Thorn in the Flesh and my gay comedy novel, Pink Champagne and Apple Juice, are available from them. Another of my novels, a gay crime thriller called A Dangerous Man, is also available from Flame Books. My latest poetry collection is A Stranger's Table, which includes poems about sex, furniture and boats. This can be found at Poetry Monthly Press. A further gay crime novel is due in 2008: Maloney's Law, which will be published by PD Publishing in the US. I'm represented by the John Jarrold Literary Agency. More information can be found at Anne Brooke's website or at Goldenford Publishers. I also regularly blog here.
Hi, Anne! This place is growing by leaps and bounds - think it'll take me a while to get to everyone & figure out what's what, too. I'm also an Ugly Betty fan. Hey, ugly IS the new beautiful! And I want Betty's glasses. They're so gross they're cool.
Thanks for visiting my site. I love how writing and this cyber community can break down international barriers to put us in touch with one another. Wishing you much success with your work.
Jonathan Kellerman is addictive. I agree. He's one of those authors that have all the warmth and comfort for me like slipping into my favorite lounge pjs. and by the way, you can come repeat yourself at my site anytime. :)
Anne: Thanks, Anne. I've heard (from everyone I've talked with so far) that nothing succeeds like 'word of mouth' and this is a great place for that. : - )
Best,
Jackie
Sounds good to me. My paperbacks don't come out until spring 2008, but i have some ebooks I could send you. I don't have copies of my novels in ebook, as the publisher didn't provide me with copies of the finished items so unfortunately the only way to get them is to buy them, or I would be happy to send you a copy of my as yet unpublsihed novel 'Glastonbury', due for release in March. I can do that if I tell the publisher you are doing a review of the book, so it would give you a senal peak of the book and you mgiht perhaps say a few things about it when you've finshed, and it would get round the sticky probelm of sending it to you in advacne of publication. What do you think?
