Hey, Fleur, good to see you here! I just stumbled in yesterday. Haven't even had a chance to order a drink yet. :-)
  • Daniel Hatadi

Welcome aboard, Fleur. I had a look at your website and see you have a habit of murdering Daniels. I'm scared, but scared is good. :)
  • F.T. Bradley

Thanks for the nice welcome! I see quite a few familiar names (hi, BJ) and some people to get to know. And I hear there's a bar somewhere, so that must be good.

Yep, Daniel's dead, hehe :-) But I'm in Colorado so you should be safe. Should...
  • Brian Thornton

Hiya Fleur, glad to see you made it here.
  • Angie

Hi, Fleur & welcome to Crimespace. Um, and no killing off Daniel H., even if he is a damn Aussie freak boy!
  • F.T. Bradley

    Hey Brian!

Angie: I only kill off the fictional Daniel in my novel, so not to worry :-)
  • Brian Thornton

Thanks for the kind words about the subject matter for my novel, Fleur. And actually, I've found a lot more time (and energy and focus) to write, lately. So far, 2007 has been an incredibly productive year!*knock wood*
  • Simon Wood

Thanks for jumping to my defense, Fleur. Brian, likes to "knock on Wood" a lot.
  • Shane Gericke

Love your first name, Fleur. Is it short for anything? Were you named after someone? Very unique!
  • Dave Bara

    Hey Fleur,

Had a chance to meet you at LCC a couple months back. How are things going? - db
  • Brian Thornton

Fleur- my folks called me from Colorado tonight, traveling across country, and complained about the cold and the snow. Made me think of you. Hope you're not buried and the weather's not killing you and that the writing's going well.
  • F.T. Bradley

    Hi Shane,

My name is actually French for flower. Thanks for the compliment!
  • Jochem van der Steen

    Hi Fleur,

Really nice to see a fellow Dutch crimewriter here...

    groetjes
    Jochem

    Hey Fleur,

I think "The Ilusionist" is much better. Check it out when you get some time!
  • BJ Bourg

    Hey, Fleur,

I know it's been a while, so I just wanted to drop in and say "Hi". I hope all is going great with you.

BTW, I noticed the discussion about your name and thought I would mention that the New Orleans Saints' logo is the Fleur-de-Lis. So, being a lifelong Saints fan, you can imagine how much I like your name. :-)

    Take care,

    BJ Bourg
  • Grant McKenzie

Hey Fleur: Just saw that you write YA as well as crime shorts. Although my novel debut is in the dark adult thriller camp, and my shorts tend to be very dark crime fiction, I have also had a YA novella published that I still have a very soft spot for. I've even written a very cool sequel to it, but no luck with a publisher there, yet.
  • Beth Groundwater

    Hi Fleur,
Thanks for the congrats on my contract for TO HELL IN A HANDBASKET. I just joined Crimespace and am trying to make friends with folks I know from other places, like you. What are you working on these days?
  • Grant McKenzie

Hey Fleur: The YA novella is a tough one to find as it was a tiny print run of 500 and mostly purchased by Mental Health groups, especially the Down Syndrome societies of Canada and America as one of the main heroes is a redheaded Down Syndrome boy named Measles. I have some info about it here: http://www.grantmckenzie.net/novels.html and it is still listed at amazon.com here: http://www.amazon.com/Avalanche-Prairie-Grant-McKenzie/dp/1896230202/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1201650408&sr=8-7
I even received a nice wee note the other day from a librarian for the Center for Development & Disability/LINC in Albuquerque, NM who had read and enjoyed it.
  • Beth Groundwater

    Fleur,
Good luck on those two YA novels! Let me know if you find a publisher for either one. In answer to your question, I've written the first in a new series, WICKED WHITEWATER, starring a whitewater river ranger living in Salida. Since 5 Star's pub. cycle is 2 years, I really need another series to get a book out in those intervening years. My agent is shopping the manuscript now.
  • Lee Weeks

    Hi Fleur
forgive me being cheeky, but you seem to be the one who knows all the other Dutch writers!! I am coming to Amsterdam to get some research done for new book and need to find a man who is happy to take me round the red light district, also love to meet for coffee with any crime writers in Amsterdam. Will be there from late afternoon on the 27th August (wed) and staying until late afternoon friday. I would really appreciate some help. many thanks x

Thanks for the tips you left for selling writing. I will definitely take a look at the sites you suggested. Until then, check out my new art work for my upcoming small press title Dead On at my website. Art certainly can sell a book and the paperback rights to Dead On are still available, so am going after a paperback pub for this title.
