Hometown:

About Me:
My first novella, a romantic suspense called The Last Daughter will release Aug. 27, 2013. I am also co-owner/co-editor of Swamp Lily Review, A Journal of Louisiana Literature & Arts, and a staff writer for Southern Writers Magazine. My first novel, The Groom Wore Blue Suede Shoes was a Silhouette Romance and published in 1996. Short works and nonfiction have appeared in Hearts, Hearths & Holidays, Chicken Soup for the Chocolate Lover's Soul, Daily Devotions for Writers and a number of southern magazines and newspapers. I love, love, love blogging, encouraging other writers and getting lost in a good mystery.
Years ago, my husband and I wrote a mystery called Beginner's Luck. It won first place in a contest and we met with an agent as our prize. He told us the book couldn't compete on the shelves with all the thousands of other mysteries. We believed him and gave it up. Now, older and wiser, I don't believe much of what anyone says. I just do my thing. :) My favorite saying is 'suspect everyone' - Dorothy Sayers.

And I do ... suspect everyone.

Movies And TV Shows I Like:
I enjoy watching NCIS. Three favorite movies are Dead Again, Three Days of the Condor and CopyCat. I love all movies though I hide my eyes during the really rough, bloody stuff.

I've been thrilled with how well Bayou Justice has been doing! :D Sent my press release to the Lake Charles paper.....wonder if they ever ran a part of it? hmmm
  • Robin Caroll

I was hoping they would. Wonder if I could check the paper online without subscribing.
  • Jess

You can try. When did you send it? Why don't you go to the paper online and email the Life Editor. That might be your best bet. Life Editor is Pamela Seal. If you want to call her it's 337-494-4065 but you might find her email address if you have the patience to search. :)

Glad to see you on Crime Space. I like your page here.
Keep in touch and let me know how you're doing from time to time.

Well, there you are! Isn't it sweet when we find each other all over the planet?

And you mention Dorothy Sayers. Are you by chance a member of Dorothy L as well?

I love how the internet continues to shrink our world.

So good to see you here!
  • L. A. Starks

Good luck with your writing. LAS

Thanks for asking to be my friend. Since you are from Texas, I am going to be a Head Queen at the Pulpwood Queen and Beauty and the Bookclub extravaganza in January in Jefferson, Texas. Will cook Cajun for 60 media types. My book, The Beatitudes, is getting 5 starred reviews, and available at Amazon.

    Hi there,

My first friend on Crimespace (or any community site!). How fun. I have family in Texas (brother's in Denton) and love it there. Thanks for welcoming me. =)
  • Rose Mercer

Hi Jess, tks for the invitation. I am such a newby at this I have no idea what we do next :)
  • Peg Brantley

What I like about Dorothy L (yeah, there's wisdom, but you've got to separate if it from the egotistic chaff from time to time) is the information I can get from READERS. Some of those people are prolific readers (I've decided that's all they do) and to learn what they like and they don't? Wonderful information.

    Soaking is a good thing.

    :-)

Tks Jess, well, DownUnder we spell embarrassed with two of everything... LOL. Tks for your greeting. I'm working on getting the outline/flow of my novel right now - as DADavenport says (she's a great friend) it's very difficult. Whatever possessed us to try? Hmm.... :)
