Profile Information:

Hometown:
Hauppauge, NY
About Me:
A resident New Yorker, I often uses Manhattan and Long Island as backdrops for his stories. He has published two novels featuring street savvy NYPD Detective Stephanie Chalice: Don’t Close Your Eyes (2005), and Ransom Beach (2008). BookWire Review wrote of the character, “Chalice’s acerbic repartee is like an arsenal of nuclear missiles.” He has also published an international thriller entitled By Executive Order (2001). Early in his writing career he received support from best selling novelist, Nelson DeMille, who reviewed his work, and actually put pencil to paper to assist in the editing on his first novel. DeMille said of Kelter, “Lawrence Kelter reminds me of an early Robert Ludlum.” He was also a member of a private writer’s group hosted by soap opera legend and former AFTRA president, Ann Loring. His novels are quick paced, and routinely feature twist endings. He is also a screenwriter, who was honored for finishing in the top tier of The Nicholls Fellowship in Screenwriting Competition, hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, for his screenplay Final Dignity (2001). He is currently working on several writing projects including the next Stephanie Chalice thriller. For more info take a peek at www.lawrencekelter.com.

Thanks for the invite, Lawrence. Your resume is impressive. I took a quick look at the excerpt of your book--looks interesting. However, FYI, the quotation should be attributed to "Sheryl Crow."

Thanks for the add! I'm a bit jealous, though...I love New York. California always seems ridiculously devoid of seasons right about now...best of luck with the writing!

I like the sound of your detective novels and your thriller. I too favour twist endings and lots of twists and turns in the story. My writing has been described by a reviewer as being 'as sharp as a punch in the ribs' I thought that was pretty good but I love the description of your writing -'an arsenal of nuclear missiles' wow. Good luck and thanks for the invite.
