  • Elizabeth Zelvin

    Welcome to Crimespace, Julia! :)
  • Julia Buckley

Thanks, Liz. I am still sort of learning the territory. The chatterwall seems fun.
  • Shane Gericke

That picture of you is too cute, Julia! Welcome to the funhouse.
  • Julia Buckley

Thanks, Shane. I was getting a little tired of my blogger photo. How are things in Naperville? And is your book appearing in bookstores now, or is it still out of commission?
  • Laura Benedict

Hi, Julia. Nice to meet you!
  • Julia Buckley

    HI, Laura.
I love your name--very literary sounding--and the dog's! Are you a Beowulf fan? Do you have a cat named Healfdene?
  • Laura Benedict

Oh, I do love Beowulf! I even like the hokey "The 13th Warrior" film adaptation of it. Though that may have something to do with Antonio Banderas. Yum! No cats, yet. We could so get together and watch videos! I could watch Jeeves and Wooster, Fawlty Towers and Prime Suspect until my eyeballs fall out!
  • Julia Buckley

I know! I always crack up when I watch HOUSE, because I can't buy Hugh Laurie as a surly American. I like him too much as the silly, earnest Bertie Wooster. I have to go check out your profile page. In what part of the country dost thou dwell?
  • Laura Benedict

We're in Carbondale. We moved here in June so my honey could be a prof in Creative Writing at SIU.

Hugh Laurie is just so good at anything he does. Comedians so often make good dramatic characters. Particularly criminals. It was a funny choice to make him an American!

Congrats on the two books. What fun!
  • Julia Buckley

Okay, I just went to your website and your trailer was so scary I almost peed in my pants. Especially after the pop up at the end.
  • Laura Benedict

Oh, goody! It's all about the pitchfork....
  • Bill Cameron

    Boo?
  • Bill Cameron

My email is being funky at the moment, Julia! I can receive but my sends are not going out. Otherwise I'd have responded to your message!
  • Julia Buckley

Hey, Bill! Thanks for the friend invite. Now I feel validated. Today is like a technology black hole--I'm going nuts with my bank, trying to sort the whole theft thing, your e-mail isn't working, my school computer wasn't working. Wah.
  • Tim Maleeny

Julia, welcome to the neighborhood. Make sure you lock your doors when you're away.
  • Julia Buckley

Okay. What does that mean? :)

Actually I've been in the neighborhood for quite some time, but I was lying low. Checking out the crimespace.

How are the book sales? Seems like you're doing a great job with PR!
  • Jeff Sherratt

    Hi Julia,

From your web site: "'The Dark Backward' has elements of both Watergate and Shakespearean drama..." Sounds wonderful. In 1972 I was a delegate for McGovern at the convention in Miami. I was a partner in a PR firm handling his Southern California campaign, and Watergate was just breaking. But it wasn't until after the election that the full story came out. It would have been a different world had the secrets of Nixon's administration had been fully known before voting day. But, anyway, I've got to read your book! Thanks for adding me as a friend.
  • Lois Reibach

I have enjoyed your interviews and am glad you post on DorothyL when there are new ones.
  • Julia Buckley

Thanks, Lois! I appreciate the feedback. I have a couple good ones coming up. :)
  • Earl Staggs

Hi, Julia. Always a pleasure to hang with you. I hope your kids have gotten over their colds in some way other than passing it on to you. Keep the chicken soup handy just in case. If that fails, try the crab cakes. ;-)
  • Elizabeth Zelvin

Hi Julia. My missing message said "Wishing you a safe New Year's Eve and a terrific 2008." So I'll say it again. :)
  • Julia Buckley

Thanks, Liz. Same to you! That book will be out before you know it--it must be very exciting.
  • Darren Laws

Hi Julia, Good luck and best wishes for a successful 2008!
  • Julia Buckley

I only read DIE A LITTLE, but I thought it was great. Very stylish.
  • Alison Bruce

    Hi Julia,

Thanks for the invite, I've been away from CrimeSpace for a couple of days and it's always nice to get back and find a new friend! Good luck with everything you're doing, Alison x
  • Doug M. Cummings

    Hi Julia,
As shameless a question as it is, how does one go about being invited to guestblog on Mysterious Musings?
    Doug
  • Doug M. Cummings

If you're free Tuesday night, please come join us at a crime scene! Crime Scene at the Library in Lincolnshire to be specific. Info on the events page...
  • Doug M. Cummings

Will you be attending the meeting tomorrow?
  • Doug M. Cummings

I intend to be. I may be late, too. Church before murder y'know...
  • Julia Buckley

That should be everybody's slogan. Well, I'll be looking for you--try to pose exactly like your picture so I know who you are. :)
  • Doug M. Cummings

I was so pleased to meet you! Hope all is well...Julie told us why you had to leave. Those pesky kids!
