Body Trace sounds great - how interesting that you were approached by Berkley to write your series. I know of another author who's writing medical thrillers for them, and it came about the same way. I'll be a Berkley author too, but I got my foot in the door the old-fashioned way. ;)
Thanks! I won't be at BEA - in fact, I seem to be behind. I don't think I'd heard of it until I got on this site. =0( But I need to prepare for next year, it sounds like. I lost my day job in early December and have been at loose ends. I've always wanted to write full-time. I'm not doing that now, but I think what's happening will help me get there. If I could do it without living with the parents, that would be REALLY NICE. But hey, beggars cannot be choosers. And I'm blessed that they will have me for a few months while I get on my feet.
I'm working retail, and you know what? It's a GREAT place to develop characters. Am going to post something this weekend about it.
WAY more than you - or anyone - needed to know. But it's life. And writers are all about life, right? After all, characters are all about life.

Thanks for the invite. Your books look interesting. I read a lot of mysteries and review for a couple of websits. I'll be on the lookout for your books.
..I told Lou that I'm not sure yet...I have to be at Thrillerfest in New York in July and I'm not sure if I can manage two trips across the pond in such a short time span... but I'm keeping the decision open for the moment.
I meant to look for your book last night at the store but got involved with some needy mystery customers (I love them...I recommend all sorts of good reads) and forgot! I'll definitely check it out online though.
My bookstore has it and is holding it, but I also ordered the first one, since I love to read series from the beginning. I love forensics even though I'm not an expert, so I'm looking forward to both of the books. And yes, I'll be glad to tell you how I liked them :o)
Hey, Jon...hope the Doylestown signing went well. We're STILL in Brooklyn. Sara's dad's still in the hospital. Looks like this is where we'll be spending the holidays.
Hope yours is dramatically more cheerful, brother!
Hi John, Yes, the Internet itself is an invaluable tool but also a time thief. I have been mugged on one or two occassion by this darned computer when I should be writing...like now, yoikes!
Jon: Since I seem to be getting a noir-ish reputation as writer Noircon will definitely be on my must-attend list once I finish grad school - in forensics.
thanks for the invite. I was interested in your blogging comment. I gave the blog thing a go but found I was getting too hung up about what I was going to write - about what I was writing. It started to encroach on my writing day... then I considered including a character in my novel who was blogging obsessively and I considered drawing from my own blogging attempts... then I noticed my thoughts were starting to form like blog entries. It got too scary so I stopped.
Good luck with the blogging but don't feel bad if you don't bother in the end. Alison x
Hey Jon,
A l-o-o-ong time ago you told me to get myself up on this site. Well, here I am. Nice to see you're at three and counting with the Madison Cross series.

"I have a book coming out next Tuesday: Blood Poison by D. H. Dublin is a forensic crime thriller from Penguin Books. "
I'll be sure to add it to my list. If you're in Philly, I presume you'll be there to see Ken Bruen get the David Goodis Award at Noircon in April.
Best, Pat.

I really enjoy forensic thrillers. I'm trying to talk our local ME into letting me watch an autopsy.
