I have some new things to talk about; yes besides the stuff I yapped about last week, yes, it is true. New stuff already! Here is the deal; I am adding a new segment to my blogtalk show, it is going to be all about writing process. Basically a panel of authors is going to discuss a facet of writing each month and hopefully something new can be learned and we can each get something from it. Let’s face it, gas is going through the roof, trying to get to one of these authorfests is tough and…

So You Want To Co-Author A Novel…
My sister and I have written a novel together called Wicked Good. People ask me all the time what was it like co-authoring a novel with my sister.
My response: all good!
It’s been my dream to be a writer since I was eight years old, and trust me, that’s a long time ago! Amy never wanted to be a writer. She is happy spending time with her sons and saving all the dogs of the world. It wasn’t planned that we would write novels…

It's true, I'm happy to say. The good folks of Trestle Press took me on this morning. I'm excited to work with a publisher so committed to reaching readers on different platforms.
It's also nice, once again, to be in a house with fellow C'Spacer B.R. Stateham.
Let the mayhem begin!

I’ve been a devotee of Timothy Hallinan’s work since I was asked to review A Nail Through the Heart, the first of his Poke Rafferty series. The Rafferty books started strong and got better, capped (so far) by last year’s The Queen of Patpong. Knowing how much effort Hallinan puts into the Rafferty books, and the emotional fatigue that must have been induced in writing Queen, it was no surprise when he opted for something lighter for his next project.
Junior…

Hello, everyone. Been away from writing for a little while.
One of the first things I've done since coming back is to put together a collection of my published crime short fiction. NOWHERE TO GO features eleven stories of murder, obsession, fear and--sometimes--redemption, first published in Alfred Hitchcock's, Ellery Queen's, and more.

Just to clarify a few things: I didn’t put together a best of Self-Published novels for the quarter because I basically didn’t do any posts on them for all of January. I could not even put together a top ten if I tried, so I will combine it when I do the second quarter’s list; it will be fair that way. I hope that you have found by now that I am a big supporter of Self-Published authors and in no way shape or form mean any disrespect by not having a best of list this time around.…

I'm selling more books than Stephen King right now.
Ok....E-Books.
Kindle E-Books to be even more specific.
And I have been for about a month now since THE INNOCENT broke the Amazon Kindle TOP 100 and settled into the TOP 10 where it's been holding under the No. 5 spot for more than two weeks.
You with me here????
Believe me when I tell you, I am…

Move over cards, cocaine, and nicotine, Virtual Reality is the new addiction. It isn’t restricted to the realms of academe or science fiction. Whether you know it or not, it’s going to change your life. It already may have done so. Stanford University Professor Jeremy Bailenson is co-author of a new book,<a href="http://www.infinitereality.org/"> Infinite…

Writing is a mystery. And the fame that comes to one writer and bypasses another even a greater mystery to contemplate.
We have a great writer here in Crimespace. She writes a wonderful set of novels called the Sugwara Akitada series. Her name is I.J. Parker. If you are into historical detectives, her Akitada novels are for you. The best of the best.
But success . . . fame. . . recognition. A mystery. Read my blog and see what I have to say about it. …

I didn’t know this when I read this story, but it is part of a larger work, the launching point of the author’s next novel. Good stuff as far as I am concerned. I like the use of the digital short story to whet my appetite for it. What does this firecracker of a story have inside it? Check it out; I have included the author’s bio as well:
“Trestle Press award winning author R.W. Doyen crafts a tale that will mesmerize you. The story begins with a difficult birth during a vicious…

Please excuse the double entendre, but we couldn't help it. These kinds of things don't come around every day you know. The fact that it's been SNOWING off and on here in Southern Oregon the last couple of days, and that a week ago today on April Fool's Day we got a surprise phone call from author Miranda Phillips Walker asking if she could come back home. Here's the backstory: Krill Press was founded in the fall of 2008 and our first title, "Absinthe Of Malice" by…

Suspense and mystique in the art world is alive and well, thanks to new details about the potential identity of the mysterious model, who famously became the Mona Lisa.
The dig is on-literally- to discover the identity of the Mona Lisa. In Florence, Italian scientists will dig up the bones, using modern science methodology that hopefully will help identify the lady.
The mystery shrouding the identity of the small portrait, has had scholars and writers…
