2011 Backspace Writers Conference - now accepting registrations!

Backspace is delighted to announce that we're now accepting registrations for the 2011 Backspace Writers Conference, May 26-28, NYC.

This conference truly does promise to be our best event yet! This year, each day will have a slightly different focus:

DAY ONE: Agent-Author Seminar with only literary agents on the program. Small-group query and opening two pages critiques by literary agents, as well as agent panels.

DAY TWO: Two-track conference program with panel discussions, workshops, and master classes taught by bestselling authors, agents, and other publishing professionals. Day Two also includes a group book signing immediately following the program, followed by a cocktail reception.

DAY THREE: All-day "Writing the Breakout Novel" workshop by Donald Maass.

EXTRA - Thursday Evening Workshop - "Buy This Book!" - a role-playing workshop with literary agent Jeff Kleinman

And here's more good news! In order to make the 2011 Backspace Writers Conference as affordable as possible in these difficult economic times, we’ve actually lowered – that’s right: LOWERED – the cost of the 2011 conference by a full $100. Registrants pay just $550 for all three days at the early registration discount price instead of the $650 attendees paid in 2010, with similar reductions for the 2-day and 1-day options across the board.

You won't want to miss this one! Early registration discounts through February 1.

"Unquestionably the best of all writers conferences, this two-day annual conference has leaped to the top with its emphasis on quality, not quantity. There are no formal pitch sessions. Instead, you’ll have the opportunity to attend quality workshops and mingle with some of the best editors, agents and other publishing professionals in the industry in a comfortable, non-aggressive atmosphere." -- Bibliobuffet

"The Fall 2009 Backspace Agent-Author Seminar was the most phenomenal conference I have ever attended. The mixers with agents were wonderfully informal and comfortable, nothing like nerve-wracking pitch sessions. They provided a great opportunity to network with agents and other writers. I recommend this conference to all my writer friends." -- Lisa Iriarte

"I love being associated with you guys. Such a class act. Backspace is the pre-eminent writers organization because you guys have made it so. Always innovating, thinking outside the box, and just generally doing conferences bigger and better than they have been done before. I'm just honored to have been there from the start.” -- Kristin Nelson, Nelson Literary Agency
