Omega Institute's "Being Fearless," April 13-15, New York City

This isn't a writers' conference, but it sounds inspiring nonetheless, and it has the potential for great networking opportunities. Keynote speakers include Al Gore, Nora Ephron and Jane Goodall, and there are lots of interesting workshops. What writer couldn't benefit by attending what Omega describes as "A Celebration of Courage and Spirit in Our Everyday Lives"?
I'm already signed up. I plan to wear T-shirts emblazoned with my "Mood Swing" cover throughout the weekend and to practice being fearless in promoting my book.

The website is www.beingfearless.org.

Fearless, yes, but where do I stay? I neglected to book a room at the convention site. I lived in New York City for 18 years (moved upstate in 1979), and usually go down on day trips. I had no idea the hotels had gotten so feindishly expensive - over $200 a night for a one-star hotel. Does anyone have any suggestions for reasonably priced lodging in NYC? If so, please post it here or go to my page and put it on the chatter wall. I'm afraid this bite of the Big Apple is going to cost me dearly.
