born and raised in Spamtown but left that many years ago
About Me:
ForMysteryAddict (4MA) listmember
Adding to my profile because my life has very recently changed.
For the last four years, I had been the primary caregiver, medical advocate for my husband of 40+ years. He was a cardiac patient with severe COPD (on oxygen 24/7) and toward the end he was dx with a reoccurance of Hairy Cell Leukemia (HCL).
Very recently widowed. By accident, not his health. Still in mourning period. And my life has completely and totally changed. The best way I can describe it as topsy turvy. Am now living with my oldest son and kind a nomad for a while, for at least a year. Then maybe I can make a decision about where I want to settle and near which kid.
Still involved with the American Lung Association as a former caretaker for a person with severe COPD.
And wondering where and what and when I will go on with my life now.
too many to remember especailly since I am all over the map on who and what I read.
Reads, everything in sight.
Have at least two books going at the same time, but different genres. Will read a mystery and SF or SFF at same time, and sometimes a cosy, hard boiled and SFF.
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
Still favor the older muscials and comedies.
Don't want to list fav TV shows, 'cause then they are hexed and cancelled.
Mum's the word on the spam.
Me, I was fed way to much as a kid, so I'm od'd on it. Did go back for a high school reunion and went to the museum. They serve spamburgers, of course. So does the Culvers there.
Spam ingrediants are supposedly a deeply held secret. Think the lable says 'by products'. I don't of what or 'by' whom.
Remembering that my father and uncles used to say that Hormel used every part of the pig except the squeal, and that they made into the company magazine.
She eats a ton of broccolli and spinach. The tantrums are not so easy but at least they are not so frequent as they once were. Mostly she complains now (the tofu and tantrum one is 19). There might be other servants available. Go for younger. Much easier to train. Well except the ten year old. He is starting already to know it all. Sigh.
Hi Rose - Thanks for the welcome. I too love the old musicals - Seven Brides for Seven Brothers?? What's your favorite?
As for squirrels and tulip bulbs - let me just say that the squirrels in my neighborhood should be going to Weight Watchers, they have eaten everything in sight!
I think you'll enjoy my mystery, "Murder Off the Books." It has a story to "die for," characters you'll love, humor to make you laugh out loud, and a nice touch of romance. Please visit my web site at www.evelyndavid.com for a sneak peek.
Thanks again - Evelyn
Hey, Rose!
Did you know that there is a writter here(Bobbi Chukran) who proffesses to be a car herder? Check her out.
Oh, and send your crew over to spring cleam here.
Merrill,
Did you mean 'cat' herder? Though it she wants to herd 'cars', that's okay with me. Newer or classic cars?
I have enough to do with the housecleaners. Need to lock Chuck up and go through the garage and basement and toss, toss, toss, toss. Wasn't in our pre-nup (HA!) about packrat hording.
Rose - how about a picture of the cat? Or the grandkid? Or well anything we can relate to being part of you? I know - the witch from halloween. I can send you a copy
Oh poor Rose! If there is a way I can help please let me do so. Most of this I find very easy and fun to play with. And you have done some very pretty things with your page - love the colours.
I use Windows - don't gots no apples although there are days when I wish we did. I would need to have your user name and password to put the picture on here but you can always change the password after
Lynne there are photos of Rose in the 4MA folders that you could crop her head from. Sounds a bit gruesome, doesn't it? Sorry Rose. You can have your head back after we're finished with it!
Yay Rose! Well done! You follow instructions very nicely. And you look great both here and when you chatter. I am still not sure what Widgets really are but Kathy Warrington has one on her page.
At last you have a face, Rose! (A very nice one too) and I'm impressed that you've even dressed to match your page colours. Now what the heck is a widget? I'm off to Kathy's page to find out.
Hi Rose,
Thankis for the welcome. I have really figured out how this place works yet. Yes, this is T.S. Elliott. I also have a 33.5 lb. cat named Tigger.
I am a definite Virgo. Yes, I have had some past-life regression done by a number of people. When it really gets interesting is when several different folks tell you the same thing.
Hey Rose,
Wish I could have been at the bookstore meet. Being technologically challenged I answered you on my page. My son told me I needed to do it here. Maybe someday I will figure it out.
Yeah - yesterday was rough. We went to see my sister and it is at that point where every time we see her could be the last time. Hard to watch folk fail like that. Thanks for the tea and sympathy!
You wrote: Going to have to seriously look for your book. Life got in my way and everything was put on hold for a long while.
Glad you to know that after the changed course, you have come to an even keel. Smooth sailing from now on!
You can order How the Strong Survive at any bookstore in the US, Canada, and the UK. To order online, I have a list of choices at http://www.newtlove.com/BP.html , right below the link to reading an exerpt from the novel. Thanks, Hon!

Glad I get to still be a chick - somehow I don't feel much like a mother hen today. More like road kill.
