I spent seventeen years in the Australian Army, deploying on two tours of duty in East Timor and one tour to the Middle East in 2003. I specialised in Human Intelligence, including interrogation (as a practitioner and instructor). Since leaving the military, I spend every spare moment on my passion for writing. My debut thriller, The Interrogator, will be published by Random House Australia in 2009.
Hi there JJ, Just wanted to add my congrats to you on getting published very well done : ) I wish you great success and will endeavour to grab a copy when its available. Happy scribing to you
Congratulations on the book. When in 2009 is it coming out? You can look forward to that great buzz of walking into a bookshop and seeing it on the shelf. That doesn't get old. A while back I posted about Aussie Ian Irvine's The Truth About Publishing which is a great background read for the first time author. I'll be keeping an eye out for Interrogated.
Cheers,
Geoff
Hi again JJ,
You'll find the article about publishing at http://www.ian-irvine.com/
It gives some background plus tips on promotion and marketing and how best to cope with what is to come. I'm right in the middle of the editing process on my fourth book and the buzz doesn't go away especially if you've had dreams about being a writer for a long time.
Congrats on the upcoming release, JJ. And the media will love your military background, which is great for getting your name out there! Do you know when in 2009 yet? It takes ages, doesn't it.
