I've been writing for several years, and will be publishing this fall (Oct. 10 is the official launch) in an anthology titled A Death In Texas, (L &L Dreamspell is the publisher) My piece is named Dark Pleasures and it is a prequel for the novel that follows... I will also be publishing a second piece entitled Sirens Call in another of Dreamspells anthologies.
I typically write more in the genre of the supernatural thriller... I love to write them, and I love to read them...especially on a night when you can hear the wind havin' a fit outside and light the candles inside and savor the mood:)
I've just returned from living in Australia (Oz) I'll slip that in there because I often refer to it as that and forget to explain the term:)..I was there almost seven years and have been back for about 6 months. Of course, I'm helping the economy, shopping like mad since I've returned... I'm SURE we're due for an upswing any moment!:)
The Stand, by Stephen King..and several others he wrote..I call him the Mark Twain of horror, because of his beautiful recall of being young...he speaks with and through the heart of a child when he uses them as characters, Dean Koontz, my favorite will always be Watchers because of that wonderful dawg, Anne Rice... who doesn't know the world she opened to us with her interpretation of the vampire? James Patterson..Jeffery Deaver...many others, but it's early and I can't think!;) Where's the java?!
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
CSI ..documentaries dealing with LOGICAL UFO contact, (not drivel) but, I do like things aside from crime etc. Grey's Anatomy, Brothers and Sisters, Boston Legal. Movies? The Birds, Rear Window, Psycho, Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte,The Haunting, The Other, Jurassic Park, Poltergeist, ET,Interview with the Vampire,Eyes of Laura Mars, Silence of the Lambs, Close Encounters of the Third Kind...
Thanks for the compliment:) This isn't one Linda took though, it's one my friend took. Linda's is way more sultry;)...Hmmm has the fog cleared??? I tried that out the door thing and couldn't see diddly!

Loretta used a different photo today, for Crimespace (sneaky, huh?) but you'll see the one I took when her authorpage at L&L Dreamspell is updated.
I'm glad to have such great authors, like Loretta and Cherri, on the L&L Dreamspell team!
Linda
:) Hi Linda...the one you took, will be on my front page of my website (when I get it..still in progress) and a couple of others(including this one) will be on other pages of the site. John's already made a set of pics to give to my mother and one for his wallet from the one you took:)...and btw, we also cut and whizzled and have one just of my eyes form that one...quite mysterious....
L.
laughing, I'm stillllll here...you know how it is, another e-mail pings in and you say, oh well, let me look at that....and you're lost in cyberspace again:)
I think you're right, to be frank, I doubt I'd find ground again for darn near a year:) I was a mad woman for about 2 months after finding out I was finally publishing::) Godawmighty, made a complete "A" of myself bouncing around everywhere:):) I'd probably wake up in the ER if Ihad the same experience you did!:)
L.
Thank you for the compliment...I Don't know it said "ice cream" design and it sound sooooo good that went with it!:) at least it didn't go to my hips this way!;)
Thank you:) me and my pinks and plums...I just roll my eyes, remembering the scene in Steel Magnolia's referring to the daughter's wedding as pepto bismol pink:)BG.
That title will probably change, but never know, if I get positive feedback on it, it may have found a home:)

Loretta:
Thank you. Don't forget, that now that you have subscribed to my newsletter from Crimespace, you are eligible to win a free signed copy of my latest thriller - A PERFECT GRAVE.
Since you've completed step one by subscribing, all you have to do now is send me an email to rick@rickmofina.com AND put CRIME MARCH in the subject.
We'll make the draw after the March 31 deadline.
I am a former crime reporter and my books have troubled crime reporters as the protags. In A PERFECT GRAVE, Jason Wade, a rookier reporter with the Seattle Mirror, pursues the truth behind the murder of a Seattle nun, while his father, a former Seattle cop grapples with a dark secret haunting him from his past.
All the best,
rick
thanks for your comment! I like that. Yes, we do have something in common. Your huz is from Oz and mine is from a farm in Yorkshire and me from Manhattan! enjoy that csi thing. I get so jealous living here in the wilds of Yorkshire. i bet it'll be great. Let me know how it goes too, please!
Well!:):) two American women...married to those UK boys...I guess John would have a fit, they're not really UK anymore are they?:)...and yes, I'll let you know how this CSI thing goes, I think it'll be quite fun:) I'm looking forward to it:)....it's a whole different arena from what I normally write though...but you never know do you??:)
thanks about the suggestion to look at the publisher's site. I will do that right now. Hey! guess what? My husband's name is John, also! Not John Also but John Gill (ho ho) to your husband he'll be a Pommie!
Pleasure knowing you, Loretta!
Another John! Also!;) BG you know, I found John, Ian and Graham to be some of the most common names over there....
I'm glad you signed up for the newsletter...and if you feel like it, speak to Linda or Lisa on their site. They're Houston based and very hands on with us and our publishing...lots of hustle from them:)
Thanks for the vote, I really appreciate it. It was quite a scary book to write as at times I felt as though I were living the book with Robert, the central character, and writing the actual journal of the Ripper was some project, as I had to convey fear, anger, and mental illness all in the same words.
Thans Carole:) I'm driving out to take my 84 yr old mother to lunch and give her her bag of goodies:) You know how it is, we women still love all the frou frou no matter how old we are:)
Just dropped by to say HOW YOU, DOIN' GIRL?!
I'm fine btw--nearing the end of the second draft!
Third draft HOPEFULLY will be the final draft. YIKES! I'll have to actually send it out then. OMG!!!!
see ya!
No fits allowed! We'll give each other moral support--but you're published! you're swimming in the ocean, me--! I'm just about to put only my toe in! Let's keep each other posted too! I would say I have another two or three chapters to go in the second draft. then YIKES I start the third. Glad you guys enjoyed your eating out!
:) Tomorrow I'm going to Murder by the Book (downtown bookstore) and we're hosting an event and I'm on the panel for a writer's discussion. First time to do THIS....lord....ah well, when the door opens you run through!:) It's all brand spankin' new to me too....
Dear Loretta,
I hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July. I meant to send this to you yesterday, but we had a death in the family.
I'll talk to you soon. Cynde
