About Me:
I enjoy meeting new people - learning new things & spending time with family & friends! Pancakes at 3am, french fries for breakfast, dropping everything & taking off to the Smokies for a few hours - disco nite with my daughter..(seeing her hamming it up & jammin to those old disco tunes...well, it's awesome!) I'm honest, true-blue & old school - raised by my grandparents - I believe strongly in what my youngin' refers to as the "old ways" - for example: I say what i mean, mean what I say - & I walk the talk. If that's old school...well count me in!
I love books! I can't imagine my life without 'em. My Mother shared her love of reading with me when I was very young...for which I am so very thankful!

Hi, RJ. Thanks for adding me. I don't think we've met on myspace yet--we should!
  • Jeff Sherratt

Hi RJ...Thank for inviting me to be your friend. Love your picture. I used to have a Teddy Bear and he was my friend, too. But that was a long time ago, at least a couple of years...

RJ, I love the thought of having a real reader review. After all, for whom do we write? Without real readers our words just reside on a page. Thanks for being there for us and letting us know.
  • Julie Campbell

Thanks for the friending. Sorry to hear someone is claiming your reviews as his/her own.
  • Dennis Venter

Whoa, it's so mellow in here. Nice.

Hi RJ, thanks for the invite. Love the real reader review concept. In echo of JD: but for readers where would be writers?

A quick note of thanks to everyone for all the encouragement & support!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

There's a character in my book named RJ. Well, technically it's Ruby Jane, but people sometimes refer to her as RJ! :D

    Hi RJ,
Funny Thing about Harah's in Joliet. I went there over a year ago and lost heftily, as did my two friends. Then I was clearing the kitchen table a week or so later of a large stack of junk mail I'd not got around to going through. On the bottom was a promotion from Harrah's.
This was the promotion where Harrah's made a huge mistake on their part and sent out comp cards to people saying all they had to do was come in and they'd get $625.00, no strings attached. It was ruled legal by a judge and I'd heard about it. Harrah's lost all kinds of money on it. Anyway there was still time left on my card so I went there the following Saturday, bet a dollar in a machine so it would be recorded I was there, in case they made another mistake and sent out cards to people who were there that day. I collected my money and went home!

Next month I'll be at Lake of the Torches Casino in Wisconsin, which is like my second home on vacation.
My friends and I spend hours there while my husband fishes. I've heard they've got lots more new penny machines there (of course to win anything decent, you have to spend at least 45 cents)
They're lots of fun and have plenty of different screens and stuff.
I confess, slots is second to my writing addiction.

Hi! I would have agree with the others and say it is a very nice-looking puppy.
I keep a large amount of goldfish in a 160 litre pond in our front yard. I have had them for years now and they are beginning to eat me out of house and home.

RJ, Thank you for contacting me. I like your profile, and choice of books and shows. I too enjoy true crime, which is why I write faction (Thank God for Truman Capote!). I was inspired to write my very Aussie unresolved murder story of 1935 because at the time the crime was reported as being "so professional, it must have been done by an American mobster." Now you Americans can keep your Al Capones and Bugsy Malones, (who were pussycats compared to our Razorgangs). You can even take our Ugg boots, (and our Vegemite), but we'll keep our own high profile killers thankyou. What would our history books be without them?
  • Bill Kirton

    Hi RJ,

Thanks for the invitation. It's always seemed to me (without getting too heavy) that reviewing confirms that the whole business of reading is a collaboration between reader and writer. Both bring something to the fiction, both create the characters and settings. Uhoh - getting heavy. Better stop and eat some chocolate.
  • JANE PADRUTT

Hi, thanks for inviting me. I only wish I had something for you to review! It would help if I could stop reading long enough to write something! Your dog pictures are adorable.
  • John Morgan Wilson

Not sure what you mean by "Dexter books," unless you're referring to novelizations from the TV series. Wasn't aware they were doing that. Anyway, nice to meet you.
  • Linda L. Richards

Nice to meet you, RJ! (Love the bio image!)

Glad you enjoyed POWER PLAY, RJ! Thanks for the kind words, and as for a movie deal ... well, if everyone goes on strike, no one will be making any movie deals for a while...
