WOW! What a speedy lady you are ... joined CrimeSpace yesterday and already have a whole slew of 'friends'! (I wonder how many is in a slew ... probably slightly more than what is found in a covey) plus, and more exciting, you have0 a publisher lusting after your novel! Wonderful!
Yes, I wouldn't mind being on your list of friends ...

Hi Karen, thanks for accepting the invite. Fact and fiction, really there's little distinction, we're all part of a narrative.
  • Lindy Cameron

Hi Karen - you're turning up all over the place. Isn't that great!

    Hi Karen, thanks for friendship.

Could I ask why you say crime "Faction"? Why faction and not fiction?

    Cheers
  • Marija Unrau

I'm so sorry to hear about your student, it must be very distressing. Glad to hear that the Olympics are a help. It's kind of funny, usually take about 1/2 an hour before bed to read and unwind, our 2 cats join me for a nightcap :)

Looking forward to reading your story, you'll let us know when it's out.
  • Marija Unrau

It takes an exceptionally strong person to write that kind of story. We always seem to write the best when we write about what's closest to us and that's usually very difficult. That's why not everyone can write a story.

I hope you stick with your "Crime Faction," it's is a very good idea, patent it before someone else gets their paws on it!
  • Benjamin Sobieck

Nice to meet you, too! Best wishes for "Sayonara."
  • Jennifer Lynn Knox

Great site, and I look forward to your book. I love that your book is part memoir ... mine is wholly memoir, if you're interested :) http://www.amazon.com/Musical-Chairs-Jen-Knox/dp/0984259422 Perhaps we could arrange a trade?
  • Karen Tyrrell

Hi, Karen! My first mystery was a sort of dark thriller, but I've also written a trilogy of humorous mysteries.
  • Bex Spencer Aaron

That's awesome, Karen! Congratulations! I'm working on Chapter 19 of mine. I have been working on it for...ever. I am hoping to get the second arc completed by the 15th of April, so I can take a little break.

That is so awesome about the publisher. Great job!

The writing's fine, it's the marketing and promotion that I'm trying to figure out. Any secrets? I see you're a Dexter fan. Have you been watching this season?
  • Henry R Thompson

    Hi Karen,

His novel 'Jennifer Government' is excellent. It satirises the West's obsession with labels and identity. Jennifer herself is a strong lead character. He is an Australian writer who was rejected by publishers at home and then picked up by one of the New York houses.

    Cheers
