It's getting kind of hot here right now. Maybe thinking of February will cool me off some.
All kidding aside, I'm very much looking forward to the 10th Love is Murder Conference. I've been to every one of them and they've all been terrific.

I'd love to attend as I've heard so many good things about the conference. Did note, that in the blurb above it doesn't give the data/days but lots of other good info. (I know it's the first weekend in Feb, though.) I'll check out the website to get that info. Just returned from Antigua where I'm finishing up Murder Visits Antigua, a Golden Age Mystery. You have to admit that this research thing can be hard work:-)
Hi, Limcon, Thanks for the invite. I've been out of print for a few years lately, but I'm back there, trying, this time with a French publisher - in line with my move, six years back now, to Brittany in NW France. I'll be back to you! Best, David
Thanks for the invite from my favorite mystery conference. I just got back from the Thorndike Press/Five Star Author Day and had a chance to chat with Michael Black about the conference. I look forward to going back to Chicago next February.
Thanks for the invite. The conference sounds brilliant.
As I live in the UK, there's no way I can make it, but I'll look forward to hearing all about it and wish you every success with it.
Hey guys, nice to meet you. What an excellent list of commitments. I've always thought Love Is Murder was for romantic suspense writers. Am I wrong? If so, since I have 2 books coming out next month, and since I'm a native Chicagoan, I just might make my one conference trip next year to Chicago. Although set in Los Angeles, my first book sold well in Illinois and neighboring states, probably because it was lucky enough to garner a super review in the Chicago Trib. At any rate, best of luck with your organization.
I'd love to make a LIM conference sometime. I have some friends in Chicago and look forward to seeing them again. Maybe this Feb. would be just the right time. Thanks for the invitation.
Hi all! Thanks for linking this on the conference site. What a great way to get acquainted with other lovers of mystery. I'll be there with a smile and hopefully something to pitch. There's no warmer place in Chicago in February than the Wyndham :o)
I just learned a valuable lesson... never register for a conference in a thunderstorm.
The power went off half way through my registration for LIM ... so I probably ended up registering several times... as a writer, a reader, a 65 year old and everything else.
And I'll be getting both the chicken and beef and probably volunteered to moderate, clean up afterwards and help steer Joe Konrath and Rob Walker away from the bar late in the evening, or early morning.
Hopefully it all worked. My PayPal payment went through...just once, I think, er, hope.
I'm in the process of registering for Love is Murder. I'll be a first-timer and am looking forward to it.
What I'm wondering is what day should I fly in? I don't plan on participating in any of the classes ahead of time. And what happens on Sunday? Should I wait until Monday to fly out?
We're still working on the definitive schedule--and probably will be up 'til the last minute. That said, if you time your flights to arrive early Friday afternoon (if you're not taking advantage of the Master classes), you'll still have time to get into a Friday afternoon workshop or two, rest up, network, and enjoy the evening's festivities. The LIMCON hotel is very close to the airport, so it's a very, very quick trip. I'd recommend a Sunday mid-afternoon departure, and depending on destination you should get home in time for that evenings' bowl game.
Hey, help us out here!
If you're on MySpace, why not add LIMCON as a friend there as well? That way, we'll have more time to recruit more editors and agents and fascinating authors for this year's 'con. After all, what are friends for?
I don't think I could ever stand being in Chicago in February. When the temperature dips below 80, I dig out my coat. If the temperature gets down to 70, we turn on the heat. Actually, we leave the A/C on year round. We wear shorts year round. Maybe one of two days of the year, we might have to put on long pants and a pair of socks. Thankfully, those days are few and far in between. But I really do HATE the hurricanes. That's the only downside to living down here (other than the HIGH property insurance rates).
Thanks for the heads-up, sounds like fun. The Southerners can take solace in the fact that it is only cold if you go outside! So, just make the tough Northerners do all the coffee and doughnut runs, and expect to be cocooned by the closeness that accompanies a good murder shared. Hope to see you at my site! I'm reviewing pretty fast, going through almost 49 years of unwritten thoughts. Almost everything is just by memory at this stage, so I call them impressionistic reviews. I'm not doing much negative reviewing (unless I can balance it with other good work by the same author). I'd rather lead towards than deflect away. Jim
Hi, and thanks for the invite. I wish I could attend the conference, but I'll be in Asia, working on my next book, from January to June. I miss so many interesting activities because of this schedule, but it's the only way I really know how to work.
But best of luck with the 10th annual meeting.
I've had a postit note on my calendar for weeks, to remind me of the deadline for fees. Finally a conference that's close by and during a time of year when I can get away from the restaurant.
We're ready! If you wish to be considered for a position as a panelist or moderator at our 10th annual Love is Murder Conference/Convention, please answer our 2008 Call for panelists ASAP--deadline is 1 November 2007!
I'm psyched about going to Love Is Murder. It's one of the friendliest conferences around. Had a great time in '06 (sadly had to miss '07) and can't wait for '08.
The clock is ticking! If you wish to be considered for a position as a panelist or moderator at our 10th annual Love is Murder Conference/Convention, please answer our 2008 Call for panelists ASAP--deadline is 1 November 2007!
That's all folks! Many thanks to those who applied for consideration as panelists or moderators at the 2008 LIMCON. It looks like we're going to have a very interesting crew! Applications are now closed, but the next important deadline is 1 December, which is when the discount for early registration goes away. See you at LIMCON!
Thanks for the invite, glad to come aboard. Tess Gerritsen is one of my personal favourites and she's been good enough to send me good wishes for the success of my Jack the ripper novel due out next year. A superb lady!

Your conference sounds like a hoot. I feel like I'm slow on the uptake, I didn't really know about your set-up. And now I do.
